As I watched 86 I got Angel Beats vibes. For both of them, unlike most action anime the goal was not to resolve the problem but to take us on an emotional journey with the characters.

If you liked Servant x Service add

...then you might like Kitaku-bu Katsudou Kiroku add

They are not really similar but they are both comedies and the lead characters both have cowlicks that move on their own. Its so cute. That is really the only similarity and I enjoy both of them.

If you liked Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou add

...then you might like Kitaku-bu Katsudou Kiroku add

They both have segmented partly continues story telly format. And are both ridiculously funny. They also focus on one gender but still don't completely exclude the other.

If you liked Samurai Champloo add

...then you might like Ixion Saga DT add

The way the story is told is similar. There is an over all goal which they are headed towards but the focus of the anime is not on that goal but more on the journey and comedy. They also share the whole 'happen-to-run-into-each-other-and-travel-together' plot like classic adventure animes.

If you liked Gintama add

...then you might like Bakumatsu Gijinden Roman add

Both are set in the "past." Both leads seem to be ridiculous morons but still manage to beat the bad guys at the end of the day. They are comedies also and have a small team of people that help the main character.

If you liked Toshokan Sensou add

...then you might like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood add

They are both set in an un-typical military setting with unique main characters. They don't waste time in the story telling. Well I don't know what else, I just thought they were similar.

If you liked Gantz add

...then you might like Deadman Wonderland add

Well I dislike both but they are similar. Too much gore trying to show evileness of people. If you enjoyed one you would most likely enjoy the other. Gantz has nudity and the like.

...then you might like Kuroshitsuji add

1 they are both set in England 2 both families the Hellsing and Phantomhive both do the queens dirty work 3 both Ciel and Integra both have servant who are more than meets the eye 4 both Alucard and Sebastian do not have any qualms with killing people 5 they both have nice dark humor Really if you enjoy one you will most likely enjoy the other

If you liked Shakugan no Shana add

...then you might like Kurokami The Animation add

They have too similar stories. A guy runs into a girl with red hair who is not really human. He finds out that he is not real from her and then the go on a journey to save the day. The fact that Shana and Kuro don’t seem to have any shame or knowledge of regular social female behavoiur. I was almost confusing the stories that is how similar they are.
