This show is wild. It sets up a wonderfully interesting world controlled by a fun mischievous god who wants someone to challenge him in a game of chess. Isekai antics ensue. When telling me to watch no game no life my friend told me that it isnt THAT generic of an isekai and he was both wrong and right. It isnt generic in the sense that the harem isnt in love with him, and he isnt overthrowing some demon lord. The show is fun as well, and you can get some enjoyment out of it. Shokugeki no Souma: San no Sara

Shokugeki is hands down my favorite shounen anime. Not being an expert in the genre, this is the first of them that has captivated me in several ways. The story is simple, following the journey of several students through the rigorous and exclusive Totsuki Culinary Academy. It isn't anything new, but is very engaging and provides an excellent canvas for where the show really shines. The Characters. This show has the single best and most well balanced cast of characters I have ever seen in any anime. I genuinely have a hard time choosing a favorite due to how excellent every character is.
