Oh boy I hope you're ready for a feels fest!

Let me just start by saying that Anohana (Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai) was probably the saddest anime I have seen as far as shock and cry value is concerned (my favorite is still the Clannad series of course though).

Story (10/10)
------
The story starts of by introducing Menma, Jinta's friend who died 10 years ago when they were little kids. The thing is that only Jinta can see Menma and over the course of the anime, Jinta and the rest of the super peace busters grow attached to her and well...I ... won't ruin the rest of it :).

The story is a very fresh take on "slice of life" anime and actually doesn't make it's main focus about high school (shocking right!?!). It was very enjoyable throughout and even though it was only an 11 episode anime, it was able to keep a nice pace throughout.

Art (9/10)

The art is very nice and fluid throughout and I found no real faults with it (backgrounds could've been even MORE amazing and that would've easily made it a 10/10 but amazing animation nonetheless).

Sound (10/10)
------
While you really only remember the main themes of the song, the ending theme Secret Base by Zone is the best ending I have EVER heard! The ending is incorporated into just about every episode and makes that feels trip even more amazing. Normally I would've given it an 8 or 9 since the main theme is good but there isn't necessarily a whole plethora of music variation in it I wouldn't normally give it a 10 but that ED theme!!!

Character (9/10)

The character personalities were very well done and it easily allowed the viewer to either hate or love the character (depending on how the creators wanted the viewer to perceive the character). The characters designs were also well done and the physical appearance (and animation) of the characters and whole show in general reminded me of the anime "Another".

Enjoyment (10/10)

While some people argue that the middle episodes were a little dull; I personally found my self enjoying each and every single one, especially the last episode!

Anohana was simply amazing, at times it makes you feel happier than seeing the ending of Clannad and sadder than seeing the ending of Angel Beats. This anime was able to make it into my top 5 favorite animes just barely beating out Angel Beats at the last second because the last episode was simply too perfect and I was straight up bawling (yes I'm a guy...). Anyways if you enjoy a heart-warming, tear inducing, slice of life, supernatural anime this is the anime for you!

P.S.- Can that movie hurry up and get on DVD so it can be translated so I can fliipin watch it!

Another is able to deliver a variety of seemingly "odd" scenarios and bring them together.
For those who don't already know, Another is about a curse/calamity that is going on within the confines of Class 3 of Yomi North and the city of Yomiyama. I'll go ahead and skip the synopsis because you can just read the one on the top of the page and go straight into the review!

-Story-
9/10- I gave it a 9/10 because, even though it takes place in the generic school scene that so many animes take place ... in, it has a unique twist to it which makes it a completely different story that I can't even compare with other animes just because of the originality.

-Art-
10/10- The artwork and animation in this anime is some of the best I have seen and will have you on the edge of your seat the entire time and goes great with the sound effects!

-Sound-
9/10- As mentioned in the art section, the sound effects creep the living hell out of you when paired along with some of the eerie artwork. The OP Kyomu Densen is a very catchy song and one that I will definitely add to my iPhone, the only downside is that this is literally the only song you will remember from the anime because there really isn't any actual soundtrack that is distinguishable in this anime.

-Character-
7/10- In my opinion there are only three characters that really stand out in this anime; Misaki Mei (AMAZING), Sakakibara Kouichi (not too shabby), and Akazawa Izumi (stone cold, emotion backbone, and crazy psycho all wrapped up into one). The rest of the characters don't really stand out much because they are killed off too fast or just are not very likeable or unique. Infact I only found myself slightly depressed when two characters died (I won't ruin it but lets just go with the names umbrella lady and elevator lady) ;).

-Enjoyment-
9/10- Was a very intense anime throughout yet strangely calming because of Mei. I felt a urge to watch episode after episode but not the huge desire like i felt with shows such as Code Geass or Clannad.

-Overall-
9/10- It was a great ride throughout even though I wish they could've made some of the deaths more meaningful or had some more closure on the future of class 3 (next years kids). Overall it was a nice anime and I could definitely see more OVA possibilities (I personally would love to see the future life of class 3 and how Mei and Kouichi develop together).

PS- The OVA is sometimes labeled episode 0 but watch it after the series even though it is a prequel, it gives some hints that you'd end up finding out later in the anime so you wouldn't want to ruin your experience with a spoiler right off the bat.
