It's seriously very difficult to take this seriously when the main characters is sexualizing the female characters every other minute. So there's this sad scene with one of the girls, and it's a moment where the viewer realizes what the plot twist is. Then 2 minutes later, the next scene is the MC looking at said girl's underwear, and another character makes a joke about how much of a pervert he is. What is this? This movie did not age well in relation to how society has changed but also the treatment of children:
-Boys and girls get seperated when being taught about puberty at school. Boys are given ZERO information about female puberty and do not even know about periods. When they find out, they make fun of the girls for having them, and sexually harass them by flipping their skirts to see if they're on their period. This is of course laughed off as boys being boys. -The MC's father is an emotionally distant man and the family is often seen walking on eggshells around him. While eating dinner ... |
