For the Steins Gate review, Mayuri is the character that pretty much brings the anime together, therefore not making her "pointless" but instead necessary. :)

And that's the kind of reviews I like, fair and balanced, unlike most reviews we see today which are totally biased and insulting. It's like when they hate an anime they will only focus on the negatives and when they like an anime they will only focus on the positives. There are also reviewers who try too hard to be a critic, turning their review into a hate speech and trolls who write reviews to literally piss people off for their own amusement... these are some of the reasons why I can't take reviews seriously now... but your review of Manyuu Hikenchou is the best review I've read so far ;) P.S. you're the first I complimented for his review.

Hm, that's weird. I didn't think it was all that similar. There is a tsundere in F/SN, but she's not the lead.

I didn't like the anime all that much either though--- the visual novel is much better. Of course it's also much longer.

I'll watch the first episodes, but I'm generally not a fan of either shounen fighting shows or shoujo. Although I've heard the original Hunter x Hunter is the best of the genre, so maybe it will turn out well.

I usually suck at guessing how new shows are going to turn out, so I haven't been following things too closely. I'm definitely looking forward to UN-GO, Guilty Crown and Fate / Zero. I want to be excited about Mirai Nikki (it's one of my favorite manga) but I honestly don't think the adaptation is going to turn out that well. Ika Musume should be good, and Bento looks like it might be funny based on the preview, but it's hard to tell. I have no idea how C3 and Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon will turn out: they both look like they have the potential to either do something new or be the next iteration of Mayo Chiki.

The anime is excellent. Mystery and Sci-fi, I started it just to kill time and found myself drown in the story. Recommended!! There are also 2 movies that follow. :)

Pani Poni Dash is kind of similar, although I've only watched the first few episodes. I can't think of much else.

I've seen Azumanga Daioh, the comedy is more along the lines of Nichijou than either K-ON or Lucky Star. It's not nearly as fast paced and crazy as Nichijou, but I still enjoyed it.

Ah Noein is one of my favorite shows. It's definitely better than Steins; Gate, but I'm not sure there's much it isn't better than. :)

The 3D is fairly ugly, but it's not too hard to ignore it.

I really have to watch Kaiji- I've heard so much good stuff about it but haven't seen any of it.

There are definitely some obvious galge influences in Steins; Gate. I still liked it though. I thought Christina was also a pretty good character in addition to Okabe (although less so in the last couple of episodes).
