Story 6/10: This is one of those short manga you wish had gotten serialized. Taking place during winter break, the story revolves around two girls whose paths cross unexpectedly, but for the better. I feel like there were so many possible paths that could have been taken with this, so I was disappointed to see it was a single volume of only 6 chapters. Alas, the world is cruel.
Art 7/10: Art doesn't match the cover, but I liked it! It has a sort of scratchy pen-feel that matches the character's personalities well.

As a huge fan of both Kimi ni Todoke seasons, I couldn't wait to see what the specials were like.
The first two are adorable in my opinion, little comedic fairy tales with an Ume twist. Everything was smooth until the 3rd episode. The 3rd episode is an attempt at 3D animation. I'm not sure why they chose to experiment with it, but I felt like it killed the whole cute feeling. Also, it didnt seem as well planned/plotted out as the first two. This would've been a 10 for me if it werent for the 3rd episode feeling like a sore thumb.

I've never seen a hentai with a plot this good before. ..and it actually follows it instead of going off in some random direction.
But this show raps up so many amazing things into one big ball of awesome. There's yuri, incest, unrequited love, terminal illnesses, blackmail, AND all with Beethoven during the actual intimate scenes. Who could ask for more?

Where to start? .... Seraphim Call is about 11 girls.. and their random stories. If you like shows that jump around without connections, then you'll love this.. The stories seemed a little out there though.. As for the ending of this series.. I almost gave myself a concussion after finishing it. It was way too rushed and the "connections" of all the characters in the end were simple and completely random..
I was expecting this series to have some huge revelation for its final episode, but it really let me down.. |
