I got through seven episodes of this show before deciding to drop it. At first, it was actually really good, good animation, a decent story, good characters. But then the whole “you can’t be a samurai because you’re a woman” thing happened. I get it, that’s how it was back then. But don’t keep repeating it. It just seemed like every guy that approached Sagiri said something like “you’re weak because you’re a woman” or “you’re a woman so you should just head back” when in reality she was weak because she couldn’t live with the pain of the people she killed. The whole thing ... was so prominent that I ended up forgetting what they were even doing on the island and I just decided to stop watching.
