They're both animes that lure you into a false sense of security about what you think the series is going to about only to completely throw you into a clusterfuck of psychological torture and inevitable dead ends. The only difference is that what madoka needed 3 episodes to do, it only took 1 episode for Gakkou

Barakamon

Both are slice of life animes that involve adult to child relationships. Both animes involve protagonists that are suddenly thrown into unfamiliar social environments but but adapt to their situations and build character from their experiences. They are both refreshingly realistic in the way the characters interact with one another and how they handle change. Usagi Drop is more realistic than Barakamon in the relationship between its characters, but the latter compensates with the synergy formed by the personality gap between its characters.

-Protagonists have the same VA -Interesting utilization of MMORPG concepts (SAO is one big MMORPG while Danmachi's everyday life integrates those concepts in everyday life naturally) -Both are exciting adventure animes that contain confrontation with psychological traumas and smooth animated fight scenes THey are both interesting animes that have similar themes and settings. Danmachi has a lighter story than SAO, but has its fair share of thought provoking moments. Overall if you like SAO, Danmachi will be an enjoyable anime for you.

They're both light hearted romantic comedies that can be easily digested by entry level manga readers that are interested in that genre. Nisekoi has more interesting quirks and situations than Horimiya, but the latter compensates with smooth romantic development and excellent chemistry between the protagonist and heroine. Horimiya is a great read for those who are waiting for the lack of romantic development in Nisekoi to end

-Contrasting personalities with great chemistry that work together -Both are great diologue driven series -Decompositions of their genres (harem for Saekano and romantic comedies for Oregairu) -Main characters are unique for the genres they are in (Oregairu's pragmatic and socially suicidal protagonist, Hachiman and Saekano's deadpan heroine, Megumi)
