Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica

Both series are dark and mind-screwing, despite being called a (mahou) shoujo. Both develop themes of sacrifice, miracle, suffering etc. Soundtrack is fascinating, and battles inspire similiar surrealistic feeling. Postmodern art as it is. Also, there are naive pink-haired protagonists and strange pets.

If you enjoyed "Revolutionary Girl Utena", you can give a try to "Banana Bread Pudding", too. Though I would say that BBP have a connection to Utena anime rather than manga. Both stories tell about girls' adolescense in strange but touching manner, using postmodernistic techniques. (Besides, there is a funny coincidence: Saeko looks exactly like Anthy, and her brother's appearance reminds me of Akio.)

Two stories about mysterious women with supernatural abilities. If you like somewhat dramatic yet fascinating science-fiction plots, you can find pleasure in reading both "Moon Child" and "Omoide Emanon".
