hi there,

just read your article http://myanimelist.net/featured/1315

and thought it is worth mentioning that the dragonslayer from berserk you described is neither shown in the picture nor in the fight against boscone. Guts obtained the sword only after the events of the eclipse, have a look here:
http://berserk.wikia.com/wiki/Dragonslayer

in any case, fun stuff, thanks for the effort!

Well, the thing is, since the anime didn't stress upon the gender, many people assume that pitou is a she for no. of reasons. And I don't consider MAL database simply becoz it has many mistakes sometimes.

I read the manga(it's vague thre also), and I will quote straight from wikia:- "The only official statement regarding Neferpitou's gender appears in the "Hunter × Hunter Character and Word Data Book." It, refers to Neferpitou to using the pronoun "彼” (kare), which is usually translated to “he.”[19][20]

When speaking casually, Neferpitou uses the pronoun “boku” (translated to “I” in English) which is often used by boys and young men, though women may use the pronoun as well."

Neferpitou is not actually a female.
