Maid-Sama is, without doubt, the best anime (of it's genre) that I have watched to date. It is very funny, and has well placed and also well paced "gag" scenes (where animation "quality" is reduced to emphasize comedic aspects). All of the characters are likeable. Even the "b" characters (as I call them) are easy enough to get along with.
Besides the comedy there is, of course, romance; which, is not over emphasized at any point. It is very well balanced and builds excellent pace throughout the anime. I personally never got tired of the comedy nor did I feel that any scene was "unnecessary".

anime does bare an extreme similarity to Toradora! as well. In fact, I watched the latter prior to Maid-Sama. I loved that, make no mistake, but in my opinion, Maid-Sama is superior, even though it has very many similar aspects. Also, Kimi ni Todoke. Also similar, but that anime is somewhat "overpowering" with the romance aspect, in comparison.
When it comes down to numerical scores: The story isn't 10/10 because it's incomplete, when left to the anime on it's own.
Art, not 10/10 due to the "gag" scenes I've mentioned. Although not over used and actually well placed, it still does affect the "perfection" of it all.
Sound, not 10/10 because... Well. I am yet to come across any anime with a perfect sound score.
Finally - I must say that the story is not complete. Although the episodes end at 26, the story does in fact continue in manga. I highly recommend that you continue after watching here:

Also, do not get your hopes up for another season. I've looked and have done a lot of reading up on the matter. It's all old rumors. Very unfortunate.
Verdict? - If you enjoy this particular genre (high school comedy/romance) then watch this anime. You will NOT regret it. Even if you haven't yet watched any anime of this genre, I am very confident that you will like it nonetheless. It really is that good.
