Red Garden

Both have death as a main theme. Both have a grim take on life and death. The soundtracks are both ominous and foreboding with their eerie choir and orchestrals. The characters are also very well written. A lot of thought went into how the characters deal with the drama of the plot. Overall, similar vibes. Main difference, Death Note is more focused on the crime/detective genre and Red Garden is more focused on the supernatural monsters. Red Garden is also more focused on the social life of high schooler unlike with Death Note. Light Yagami was a sociopath so he was by no means normal unlike the girls in Red Garden who go from ordinary to extraordinary in a single awful night.
