As I'm writing this, june 2024, it only has 3 chapters translated and I'm already hooked and rooting for the main character. I don't particularly enjoy sports manga, which is another reason this caught me off guard. The story seems to have great potential and its a very fresh take on the genre, made me wonder about how women's sports are actually "halfassed" as the manga suggested and it's a shame, considering how hard it is to be an athlete, they certainly deserve more attention and recognition and I'm glad the author took the time to bring these questions into the light.
The characters are
...
unique, interesting and their motivations are actually reasonable or at least entertaining (usually I get tired of the lame narrative of becoming the "best"). But the main character... That's where the money is at, top tier cute waifu muscle mommy borderline sadistic. At first she's the normal shy good hearted girl that everyone is bored even thinking about it, but then you realize the author actually met women in his life and he writes her as a normal human being. Wait, almost normal, because she's really sadistic and I'm not sure if it's because I relate to her and her violently fantasies, but I'm really interested by the actual representation of how some of these intrusive thoughts go through our minds and how it's going to develop as she grows, is she going to get more and more violent or is she going to slowly learn to control her impulses and be a better more mature martial artist? Whatever the case, it's quite charming and entertaining, she actually has a deep personality, layers and layers and that's what makes a good character.
The art style is really good, action scenes and the anatomy angles are really complex and professional, you can notice how precise the artist is in each panel with very good notion of space, volume and perspective. Nice to look at.
You should give it a try, I'm betting big on this one, so much potential.

Too much economics, not enough wolf waifu. I'm also dumb so it's hard to understand the ergonomics of economics (trying to sound smart here, don't know what ergonomics means). Nonetheless has a sweet story and joyful moments, very heartwarming, so if you are smart enough to go through the boring bits where they are explaining random stuff about money without falling asleep or opening some meme page, you will enjoy it.
But if you are like me and it's just here for the wolf ears, you will not be leaving disappointed, the voice actress is great, the animation and character design is awesome and her personality
...
is captivating, she even change clothes by the middle of the season. There's something for everyone, I'm just having a tough time getting through the boring economic bits.

Narrative and Production style: Just like any Asano work, this one is a wild, complex, intriguing and thought provoking art piece. But unlike the others, until now, the narrative is mostly straight forward. When the story starts to branch in new directions, instead of creating a new plot point, it just introduces to the reader new characters that follow the main story and helps the writer to define a stronger sense of development to the manga. It's A LOT more action packed than his other works, but the action is so well paced in each panel, it's almost like it's being animated or that you
...
are reading some sort of extremelly detailed storyboard for an action sequence, which it's just as brilliant as it's captivating since it reproduces the essence of action in a couple of still images.
Story/Plot: It's deep, as always really creative and original concept into play with all the social dilemmas with it. You can feel that it's building up to some really emotional and enlightened arc. I won't say much because I don't want to ruin the experience, just go read the first to second chapter and you will be hooked.
Art Style: You can tell it's an Asano manga, but at the same time you can also notice how his art style has developed over the years and is now peaking. Stronger, more defined and chunky lines help to create a sense of movement for the amazing action panels while the more dark and gruesome choices of full black come into play to present a darker tone as if it's own narrative it's now reflecting in it's own art.
As of this is written there's only 12 chapters, I shall improve this review as it goes. But you should read it, RIGHT NOW.

This is my first review, I had to make one.
I'm very used to post apocalyptic worlds and stories, so I'm also very used to the feelings that this genre transmits. That said, this manga hits deep, deepest than any other one that I have ever read and watched.
Clearly has a narrative like Mushishi, in which you and the main character experience the world and the story together through the characters you both meet, the storytelling doesn't have any big mysteries and it doesn't hold back to tell you what happened, be that through dialogue exposition or world building and enviroment, but it doesn't stop being
...
interesting or fascinating, it serves to help you understand better what people have been through and what the character really feels, it sacrifices mystery and suspense in order to build empathy and accomplish a more subjective, but deep interpretation, which is something tha lacks in this genre.
But what really touches me and makes me think that is one of the greatest is how it expresses the deepest and most tragic feeling of despair and dread a post apocalyptic world can, how each chapter left me with a sense of complete sadness and emptyness and yeah, it's depressive as fuck, but what makes it really good is his capability to be depressive without trying too hard, just being honest, complex and most of all, intuitive in his humanesque essence.
