A much as I would love to love this anime, I can't ignore the faults in how rushed everything is. I appreciate what is layed out before us, but this feels like the studio was told they wouldn't get a season 2 and to wrap up the whole thing in one, and at the last minute, approved for a season 2. I absolutely love the characters and story, but half of it is just missing. You really need to fill in the gaps and understand what isn't shown or told. If I were to put this show the best way, It would be a piece ... of unrefined gold ore on display at a jewellery store. You can see the glitters of something beautiful. But due to the massive rush job, sits covered in rock and split in half due to a rush job trying to clean it up. If you can appreciate what is there and what could have been if more time was given, I don't think you will hate this show. I want this show to be one of my top 5, I can see it had the potential from the source material, but mismanagement has caused it to fall short.

This has weirdly become on of my favorite anime this season. The story is extremely slow and the first couple episodes were abysmal. However, the more I watched, the more I realized I came away enjoying this show a lot more than some of the other shows this season. I will admit the story and pacing are certainly not for everyone. However, if you enjoy a slow story with little stakes, like a slice of life, I feel like you could really come away enjoying this show too. I think a lot of people came into this show expecting immediate power fantasy and bad-ass action ... and harems and stuff. But the main character is just a genuinely kind character who feels like he's earned his character growth. The lower animation budget is also off putting to people because popular anime are very beautifully handled. However, the studio is using their low budget to their advantage. They turn these sharp jittery motions into some genuine belly laughs with the slap stick. And with the lack of action, it's a style that stays consistent and thus makes it easier to get into the story. If you dropped this anime due to the bad first few episodes, I say give it another chance.
