I love the concept of this universe, there are many great episodes, some episodes that I liked more than in FMAB, even.
But watching or remembering this makes me mad. Well, it was so bad that they had to remake it, so at least the creators know what's up.
After watching FMAB I can't just say that this one is good. The ending is a complete disaster. You can't cut half of the stuff, suddenly end things like someone's rushing you and expect to get a 10 or a 9 just because of nepotism. It's not how it works.

I was looking for an anime to watch... saw this title, it was good rating, lots of positive reviews, praises everywhere, why not try it out?
Mistake. I'm kinda confused why so many people like it when I can't even finished because it's just... so... bad. I watched 3 episodes and had enough. No, not gonna continue or like it. I know how I feel. Tbh, from every anime I have watched so far, this may be the worst one. Imagine reading a very bad fanfiction. The most stereotypical, predictable one. With stupid powers, stupid plot, with grammar errors, poorly formatted, dots missing, your main character is ...

Let's talk about making video games into anime. Sometimes... it just doesn't work. Okay?
The point is, things that make sense in the game suddenly feel very strange. Also, you play the game for the gameplay, maybe to get scared, you often insert yourself into the role of the protagonist. But then would directly taking the plot of any game make a convincing and compelling movie? Of course not. It's not so simple. This anime has the atmosphere of a horror game where you're just triggering events, escaping killers on different floor, solving puzzles. Definitely, among the best anime I've watched. At this moment, one of the four titles that I've rated 10/10. And it might be because the other version (not Brotherhood) was so bad compared to this and influenced my opinion, who knows. Still, I'm not gonna change my opinion. This is a classic and it is worth watching. Whether you want to watch the other one is your own choice, you don't have to, but at least then you'll know how things went downhill in the second half, totally ruined the ending, sudden cut. Here, we get a lot more (sub)plot, characters, action, logic... Everything.
