I've never read the Hayate no Gotoku manga. Maybe I should...

I first used "Ayasaki Hayate" as a username for a forum back in 2009 since I couldn't think of one at the time. A few months later I started using "Kuroi Hayate" for most things, and soon after people started calling me "Kuro" for short. So now I mostly go by Kuro, and Kuroi Hayate when the username Kuro isn't available :P

As for that website, I didn't have the time to keep it going due to being busy with other things in life :\

Since the first season didn't stick too close to the manga, you could skip to the second season and wouldn't be too lost, if you watched the first 5-10 episodes of the first one.

The romance part of it gets much better in the second season. I haven't updated my list here in over a year, and have recently started reading manga more often than I watch anime.

Well, by biologist I just mean someone who studies living things. Dawkins does hold to evolution though, and tries to use that against religion. He thinks there's some kind of incomparability with science and religion. You're right about flame wars starting from both sides since some theists can be at fault but I have to admit that I do see that less often… maybe because I tend to be around skeptics a lot.

That's an interesting history of Sweden. I'd like to study more about that king and how exactly he forced the population to submit to it… hopefully he was not forcing everyone to be a Christian because that is just wrong. I do like the flag you guys have and I'm surprised you love it despite being an atheist. There must really be a difference between the american culture and swedish culture because over here, we've lost our sense of pride in our nation and our government is just… crap. People get offended over silly things like "In God We Trust" being on the back of our coins.

That's a curious fact. After the youth get into their middle age, do they tend to turn back to Christianity? Aww, I guess I can see how they think it is boring now that games, entertainment and a social life have taken over. It's too bad that people think that way because this kind of attitude also encourages ignorance and low thinking skills. Well, at least that's how it is over here :P LOL they hate you guys over that? I think we have some churches over here that have supported homosexuality too, though.

True, I think it has been used politically before. It began with Constantine but I think he had a proper reason. He was redeeming christians from persecution and there were emperors who wished to harm them. Christians were thought to be cannibalizers and atheists, since they denied the divinity of the emperor. It wasn't until Constantine that the situation took a turn for the better as he destroyed his competing rulers and reunited Rome. He used Christianity but not in a negative way, from what I am able to gather. On the other hand, I am sure there have been bad uses of it too. I just don't think it is only because of war that Christianity is what it is… it has had a great influence on society and has done a lot of good for society too.

Wow! That's an early age to start learning English. I didn't know it was required learning but that must be helpful since most anime are subbed and you can do a lot with it if you ever decided to come over here or something. I can also read spanish actually XD I don't understand everything, I just learned by hearing since I'm half mexican.

I think he grew up with Christianity but he is hardly informed about religion. He's a biologist, not a theologian or professor of religion. Christopher Hitchens is another popular atheistic figure here. They're haters, not just deniers. I guess these atheists are not very popular where you are. Are the majority of swedish religious?

Well, I think I mostly added you to talk about Outlaw Star. I saw that you were an atheist but one who also respected critical thinking. I thought that was cool because atheists are more interested in flaming and they tend to be against philosophy because "science" is king. Not everyone though and sometimes there are exceptions. So yeah, I thought you'd be a interesting person to get to know :)

Really? Perhaps your dad believes a God exists but doesn't believe IN God. That is, he doesn't put His trust in God or something.

That's for sure, we need to be more gentle with people and hope to convince them of our beliefs but not try to force them to believe in it. I never liked Islam because that religion was mostly born from conquer and war. That's the only reason it succeeded… it influences people by the sword and through the sword. Even if there are people who are not radicals, I still think the text itself is weak.

Just recently I read about Aristotle's degree of friendship. One is based on utility (you do this for me and I do something for you), the other is based on pleasure (you make me laugh, so I like you) and the other is based on virtue which Aristotle calls the HIGHEST form of friendship. In other words, virtue is where you have two morally virtuous individuals who love and respect each other because of what is good in each other. So that by this love, they help one another live a virtuous life.

Just thought I'd mention it because you seem like you could be that kind of friend :) When do you usually go on MSN? This time I was able to add you but I think we're missing each other XD

That's true. Over here Richard Dawkins (ever heard of him?) is a popular figure for atheism but he does not understand religion at all. He is a poor thinker for one and has a very angry tone toward Christianity in particular. He thinks it is evil, a delusion and ridiculous. There's often a comparison between God and Santa Claus as a way to mock religion. He loves to use rhetoric which I do not like because it has no substance.

That's what atheists are usually like online. They're arrogant, condescending, stupid and engage in all sorts of barbaric mockery. I am good friends with an atheist so I have no hard feelings against people who challenge my beliefs. You're interesting because you're not like them, plus you enjoy anime too :D I like people who enjoy intelligent discussions.

That's interesting that you would be thinking about it at such a young age. Were your parents religious in any way? I'd like to comment about your argument on science and our finite minds but I think I'll save that for a better time… I don't wanna make this too long for us to respond to. I still do worry about turning debates into a "I can beat you!" kind of thing but it is that worry that helps me turn away from it. You got to always be careful of your motives, it can be very sneaky.

LOL yes I think that's absolutely ridiculous. Muhammed was just a man, even according to their own religion. He may have been a special man but not a "God" which is what they're treating him as. Radical muslims are just idiots.

Haha! I haven't watched Fruit Basket, not sure if I want to. In real life you don't enjoy comedy much either eh? Like if someone cracks a joke… maybe about something silly like a fart, you won't laugh? Yeah time is one factor but sometimes a show is worth it. Like Monster is one example of a long anime that brilliantly creates a deep story all throughout the show. I recommend you see it!

I do believe in Christianity, actually! You're an interesting atheist because most of them are not interested in religion as you are o_O They wouldn't even bother to read their religious texts. That's a young age to start doubting but it shows that you have a skeptical mind at a young age :) Why did you leave the faith, exactly?

I think the term "faith" has some bad reputation in America at least though. I do not like it when Christians themselves say things like "Faith is believing without evidence". If Jesus's resurrection has no evidence, I have no reason to be a Christian. Sometimes I think some Christians can be blabbering ignorant fools who rely on what they feel rather than on evidence.

Haha you're awesome, that's a good observation. Whenever I did debate, I did admit defeat but it was one of my goals to win. That turns out to be a horrible approach. At best we should debate in order to "convince" another person. When it becomes a pride issue, it's like having a pointless cat fight and people start ignoring each other's argument. It is a shame as both sides can be insulting to each other. You don't need to worry about me though… be as blunt and critical as you want of m beliefs :P I won't get angry.

I did like the dub but I am not sure how much better it was than the japanese. I think they're both equal but usually I prefer the sub for most of my anime.

I don't think Legend of Galactic Heroes has any fillers! Plus, the reviews on MAL seem to be great. I'll let you know what I think for sure! :D The length of episodes doesn't usually stop me, I guess people are more careful with their time hehe

I have only watched three episodes right now but yeah you're totally right, I prefer anime with good story plots. Though, I do like comedy filled shows such as Gintama. I have a retarded side in me xD Echii is meh, it never adds anything to the show. I especially dislike the shows that make a huge focus on it. A complete waste of my time.

That's cool though, I'm not an atheist myself but it seems like you enjoy thinking like I do ^_^ When I started out, I did it because I liked debating… it was more about "winning" for me though. Now I just try to do it because it's fun and interesting to talk with other people about it.

There were some things that bothered me too. I think the death of Gene's Father was a bit too cheesy for one… I also got a little annoyed by Aisha at some point but grew to like her. Did you watch the English Dub? What parts annoyed you?

I know! CG is one of my favorites for a reason :D I hear though that Legend of the Galactic Heroes is better as far as "story depth" and intelligence of the characters go. It has a lot of episodes. I'm going to see it soon, so if I watch it before you do then I'll let you know what I think.

Serial Experiments is freaky in a good way. Love the soundtrack and the story because I think it is a bit intelligent compared to other anime. You got to pay attention to what's going on or else you're not going to follow. So far I have understood most of it. You should totally see it ;)
