First of all, my review might not be accurate since there are 2 reasons:
1. I am an easy going guy so I might be easy at some points.
2. I just started watching anime again after spending years into MMORPG games so my Anime knowledge is quite lacking.
A Glasslip cover caught my eyes when I was wandering around the Internet, looking for good Anime to start with. It was still airing during that time so I decided to bookmark and wait for it, with the thought like many others, this Anime has potential. I also avoided reviews in case of spoilers.
Oh
...
boys............I have never been so wrong in my life..............
After 13 episodes, I am like a person who is lost in the middle of the desert, mumbling: "What on earth did I just watch?"
First episode actually got me thrilled, everything seemed to start at low pace, not much going on except for the .... chicken part which was a bit...... unexpected, but for me, personally, it's totally fine, by the end of the episode, I was still convinced that this Anime really had potentials. This was my first mistake.
Then this David guy started talking about some craps such as Fragments of Future, all I did was to yell out:" C'mon, no supernatural craps, keep it as slice-of-life and romance Anime please !!!"
After each episode, my hope started to crash, the more I watched it, the more confusing I got, to the point that I began to feel irritating. I kept hoping that the next episode would be better or at least,it could explain some of the the questions I had. Here came my 2nd mistake. After 13 episodes, I was left with a huge disappointment.
---------------------------------------------------
Story: 3
I am not confident to say that I understand the story was about although I did re-watched it twice (yeah, I was that brave, or more like I didn't give a crap anymore at the second time), you can call this decision was my 3rd mistake. Sometimes while watching it, I thought that P.A.W didn't even have the story prepared, they just put random stuff in while making the anime.

Art: 6
I was sold by the art. Not gonna lie, I even did screenshot the sceneries and use them as my desktop background. The characters design, especially in first episode, also made me excited. Then why do I give 6 for art? The answer is, I felt like P.A.W was being pushed, to the point that they didn't even care about the character looks anymore. First few episodes were ok, but for the rest, I felt like i was watching some kinds of Glasslip's doujin. Fortunately that the sceneries, the town still maintained their good view, otherwise, 6 would be too generous.

Music/Sound: 9
The best aspect of this anime, I am gonna be honest, Glasslip's OST has been my most played tracks for almost 2 months now, and I don't think I would stop listening anytime soon. Especially the OP, it suits perfectly with the sceneries and the beach town. For other anime, I usually skip the OP but with Glassilp, I made an exception.

Characters:
First thing, while reading my review, you might have this question in your mind: "why the heck does this guy choose Touko for his profile image, after so many saying so much negative things?". Lots of people have been saying that she's boring, clueless, childish or even stupid. I don't disagree, in fact, they are true, most of them. However, I still like Touko, I am probably the only one that would put Touko as my most favorite character; simply because for some reason, she is quite close to my own ideal girl imagination (yeah, I have weird taste, you can say that).
Okikura is plain boring. I like cool and mysterious guys, but this guy is just meh... I was glad that he didn't even end up with Touko. He made the Anime worse.
Not sure what to talk about the rest since there weren't enough development nor connections between them anyway. There are many times in this anime that scenes kept being switched between characters, to the point that I didn't even think the conversations or actions were even near finished or at least, to the main point. It looked like the Director was thinking:"hmm, this character hasn't got much scenes yet, let give him/her 2 seconds of glory !!!". In the end, no personality was shown, they are just plain......
-
Enjoyment: 5
I enjoyed the Anime up until episode 4 or 5. For the rest, I was only looking forward to any natural sceneries and ....Touko, as well as the glass making scene (just for curiosity). I finished the Anime because I don't want to do anything left hanging, just like the Anime did in the end.

Overall: 6
I would not recommend this anime unless you have so much spare time and you enjoy the seaside town, as well as beautiful firework.
Lastly, I wrote this review after watching....Nagi no Asukara. And I would say, Glasslip could have been better if P.A.W didn't rush (just my personal feeling but i think they actually did) the project, and made it around 20ish episodes, so they could go into details of those main characters at least, just like they did in Nagi. After all the negative things I gave, I seriously don't hate the Anime (except for Okikura), it was a huge waste when it could have been a big hit but P.A.W decided not to.
