Both series have a large number of heroes. Each of them has its own personality, individual traits, habits and vices.Their fate is often intertwined with each other, complicating the whole story-line. Consummate sociologist will definetly find himself in both stories. However, the plot in Durarara!! is conducted in more mature way.

There's young typical boy who is attending school, but after few minutes, we can see, that there's much more about him and that's not to be only his delinquent's habits. First episode shows us characters from different world, who came to our place, because of their own reasons. I didn't read manga, but I think, there will be many many more charas, so we are receiving another "never ending story".
