Now I watched this movie back when it came out 2-3 years ago. I remember it being very well received but severely under watched by many. And now I come back looking at the score now and somehow it having a rating below 8. As of me writing this review, it has a rating of 7.64, something I was not expecting/ highly disagree with and will be trying to sell this film to you because it honestly does not deserve such a low score! (I will try to make this as spoiler-free as possible so don’t you worry!)
Story - 8. What I like about the
...
story was that I was very metaphorical and up to interpretation, now if you don’t like doing that and just want something that is clear and not ambiguous then this movie most likely won’t be much to you, you’ll just bask in its beautiful artstyle, which I will comment on soon. However, for me, ambiguity is something I love to see in the media so I gobbled this up and left nothing behind! Penguin highway explored its themes subtly and masterfully for example:one of them was a global problem like sea level rise another being the wildness and wonder of childhood, which was a joy to see since these themes are relatable to anyone! Even though I may not be passionate about any of those themes, penguin highway made me feel a kindle of passion for both of them, granted only for a small moment, but a moment I found to be ponderous, fun and deeply engaging, which is an emotion many things in media attempt to recreate but fail. Now, personally, even though it’s story itself was amazing the only reason it is not anything above an 8 is because, story wise it wasn’t my personal favourite and there were a few places in the movie that were confusing even for me. But to be honest, an eight is still a high score and it wouldn’t have been such a high score if it wasn’t for all the other aspects of a movie that make a movie, a movie, next up being music!
Music - 8. On the whole, the music accompaniment with what happened on screen was very fitting. There were no moments were it felt like it wasn’t meant to be there, rather it helped capture the feeling of the scenes and amplified them to a new level. The quality of the songs were on point! All of its songs were brimming with this vibe of playfulness and liveliness. The songs also didn’t feel generic. All of them were original and felt like it was specially made for Penguin Highway. One notable one is the song ‘Good night’ by Hikaru Utada. I think the movie was used to premiere her new song and honestly I loved the song so much I went to put it on my playlist after hearing it in the credits. You should listen to it! So I give props to the composer and sound director for its delightful OST.
Characters - 8. I was originally going to give the character sector a 7 but then I remembered that the MC (Aoyama) is an oppai lover and I couldn’t stop laughing at that part xD but aside from that, even though I was going to give it a 7, that didn’t mean that the characters were bad, they were just not as spectacular as it’s Story or Art-style. The MC and the Onee-san with no name I thought, had a decent amount of depth and I liked them a lot. Their reactions to the challenges each of them faced felt realistic and together with the supporting characters made it a fun adventure. That said, I only felt an attachment to the main characters and one supporting character, that being Suzuki. He goes through a decent amount of depth as well. I also liked the penguins, they were cute! Everyone else I feel like was just there to fill in the gaps but nonetheless we’re still important since without them, the playful, childish and yet wonderful atmosphere penguin highway has, would not have been as powerful as it is. However, there is one outstanding feature about Penguin highway I have not discussed yet. Without it, I don’t think I would have put it on such a high pedestal than I do now, this being Artstyle!!!
Art - 9. Studio Colorido is known for their vibrant, engaging animation and man! Did they do an incredible job, especially considering that the movie was partly animated by young animators wanting to make their debut on the anime world! Even just looking at the thumbnail of the movie, you already know it’s gonna be good. I truly adore the art in this movie. It is a true spectacle! Honestly, it is on the same level as Your Name and Violet Evergarden in terms of Sakuga! It is brimming with vibrancy and colour which I think is used to represent the wonderful minds and imagination MC and the other girl (sorry forgot her name) I remember just pausing to gaze at the scenery and elaborate detail of some of the scenes in Penguin highway because it honestly looked amazing! It definitely added to the sense of adventure the movie had. And there is one part of the movie that is notorious by the name of ‘the sakuga scene’ and honestly it lives up to its name! Anyway the art is probably the most notable feature for this film. It was absolutely phenomenal!
Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed this film, which is why I give it an 9 for personal enjoyment. The art was aesthetically satisfying, the story was unique with its metaphorical way of telling a story. It is filled with so many complex yet engrossing themes that I was only able to fit in two in this review because if It simply wouldn’t fit if were to discuss all of them xD They were portrayed well with its great music and characters. Also I loved how it used penguins, which are probably one of my favourite animals and added to the movie’s whole aesthetic. I also remember watching this film purely because of its name, which I have never done before. I hadn’t watched the trailer prior to watching it neither had I heard anything about it apart from its name. Like ‘Penguin highway!’ Like the name itself, just emanates this sense of excitement and a playfulness that I didn’t know I was thirsting for! Now that I think about it, I don’t think I have been convinced to watch a whole film just based of its name, so I give it props for that as well!
However overall, I’m giving it an 8 because I understand why some people did not like the film and also I came across slight problems character and story-wise. I also gave it an 8 because despite the all the fantastic things I have talked about, it isn’t my favourite movie of all time. But trust me when I say that, the good outweigh the bad. I definitely recommend more people to watch it because it is so underrated and under-watched by many and I will never understand why it has a score below an 8, like that honestly just boggles me.
But anyway thanks for taking the time to read my review, this took me a long time and I know I wrote a lot so honestly thank you so much and I hope you have a good rest of your day ^_^ Goodbye!

I bet you're looking at this anime thinking...
"wow... 6.85? nah! too low of a score for me to even consider watching it!"
Which is why I am here to tell you that it really isn't all that. There's so many bad reviews on Masamune-kun no revenge, for some reason, that i just felt like i had to give it some recognition, because it does not deserve the amount of harsh scores it has, in the slightest! (I will try to make this spoiler free for anyone considering to watch the Anime).
Storywise. I gave it a 6. Many people have said that Anime does flop
...
at the end and I guess... It kinda did? but to me, It wasn't so bad and I enjoyed the story overall. I definitely laughed here and there. The story are not short of entertaining. The plot is interesting enough to keep watching. There was one particular arc in the Anime that I found to be absolute genius concerning Fujinomiya Neko, which is what brought the score to a 6. It wasn't a 7 because, I think there was something missing from the overall story and in order to avoid spoilers I will not go on about it, but those of you that have watched it will understand what I mean when I say that (hopefully).
Art: 7. It is pretty standard to be honest. Doesn't look horrible but there's nothing outstanding about it. I like the look of the characters and the art does nothing wrong in terms of portraying its story. Not much I can say about this section.
Sound: 7. The overall OST is Great actually! It blends well with the scenes it accompanies. And there was one song, that was outstanding to me - not sure of the name but - It was in the arc I mentioned before and that arc was pretty sad to be honest. I think the song really made that particular scene, that much more touching. Apart from the OP and ED, the rest of the OST i have no further comment. The OP (Wagamama Mirror Heart) is great actually. It hyped me up every episode and is very fitting since Wagamama means selfish, which is exactly what Masamune and Adagaki are. (I literally just took a pause typing this just to dance weirdly along with the OP) The ED is pretty standard. Not much I can say about it except it was sung by Choucho, (Outstanding singer btw, check her out!) and out all the songs she has sung in various Anime, this isn't the best but is still pretty good. The whole OST was nice to listen to. (sorry, if that was a bit long, I love listening to music so in turn, I love talking about it xD)
Characters: 6. The characters are not the best but not the worst by any circumstance. Concerning the main characters, I thought they were pretty enjoyable, with at least some depth in them. The other characters. I feel like they are just there to carry on the story with not much depth. Fujinomiya Neko was the one character that I absolutely loved (sorry I'm actually simping) because I full on hated her and then completely adored her at the end.
Overall, I gave my personal enjoyment a 8 and the anime as a whole a 7, because I thoroughly enjoyed watching Masamune kun but I do understand it has its setbacks. Still, very engaging from start to finish. I really do think the anime deserves to be praised more and that MAL score should go up by a 0.5, because it just simply doesn't deserve that. I do recommend watching this anime with an open mind. I say 'open mind', because although I'm saying it is underrated, I definitely understand why people say the Masamune kun is under par. There are some minor plot holes here and there and unfortunately I don't think there is going to be a season 2 to cover it all up, according to the time I am writing this review now. It definitely isn't the best in any circumstance, but it also does a good job of adapting the source material to portray a very entertaining story. I definitely will look back on this Anime and say
"Yep, loved that one!" so GO WATCH IT!
(sorry! I hardly write reviews at all so I hope this was able to give some insight into the Anime)
Have a nice rest of your day, whoever you are! ^^

Let's take a walk through the history of Isekai. There's been some action-packed ones and ones that leave you laughing on the floor and ones that just dissapoint and take a somewhat typical approach to the Isekai genre. In comes my life as a Villainess, and somehow people have found an Fascinating way of blending harem and Isekai together to create one beautiful, yet comedic Anime that I just love! (Like seriously do you remember the last time there was an Isekai that was also a harem)
The Anime follows the light novel written by Satoru Yamaguchi, where a a 17-year-old otaku girl finds herself
...
playing an otome game called Fortune lover. In that game, they play the main protagonist, Maria Campbell, and the player tries to find the different routes in the game, where they end up in love with different men. The thing is, what are you supposed to do when you suddenly get reincarnated into the villainess in the game, who is fated to either be exiled or get executed? The story follows Katarina Claes and how she tries to avoid all her routes that lead to doom, altering parts of the game, while trying to keep a level head with the fact that she most likely will die (again...). I think overall the story was executed pretty well, except I would have liked the series to have followed a 20-25 episode run, instead of the normal 12-13 episode run as I would have liked to have seen the characters develop more and seen an ending climax that did not seem too rushed.
I don't really interest myself in the artstyle most of the time when watching Anime, except for when I think it's really bad, which in this anime, is not (thankfully). It does its job and I like how it was adapted to make the otome game look more realistic than it would have in a game.
The characters are nothing short from entertaining. Katarina Claes is so delightful to watch honestly. Probably one of my favourite protagonists this year and you will see that when you watch it. Because the anime had to be short and had to have so many main characters, I was scared that I wouldn't find them to be likable but nope, the anime manages to pull it off. This has such a great cast of characters.
Another notable feature of the Anime is, the music, especially the OP. Please listen to it because It's just so crazy. Like I don't how to describe it but don't you think It's just like the Nichijou OP, except adapted to a world of Princes and Princesses. It is just such an enjoyable OP to watch and to listen to. The song itself sounds like 3 totally different songs but just put together. They even incorporated Beethoven into it like it's great! And yet it somehow fits the show very well, and sums up the kind of vibe you get from the show, which is Funny, absurd and lovable. The rest of the OST plays at great times and has it's is full of classical songs that fit very well, since the show is set in a world of Royalty and Nobility, however I do agree some scenes can go without the music as it's somewhat exaggerated. But please listen to the OP, it's so good ^^
I really enjoyed watching this series. It is distinct in how they incorporated two completely different genres together and Silver link put together ideas that we thought would not work but actually work very well and I congratulate them for doing that because it just makes the show even more enjoyable. And honestly Silver link has made so many underrated shows and the ones I have watched have not under par. The main flaw is how the story was slightly rushed but I promise you, you should watch this hidden gem because, that won't prevent you from enjoying the series because, it really is Amazing. Bakarina will rule forever and ever!!! Thank you!

When i first watched, the first season of 7SEEDS, i was very disappointed because, it was very rushed. The characters were not that likable, therefore I did not enjoy it very much. I gave that season a 3 overall, but this season... MY DAYS. It was the biggest redemption for an Anime for sure! Now to start off, the story.
The plot of the story is as interesting as the first season's plot, except this season executed the story in a more satisfying and less rushed way. I felt captivated and was lost in the story in an instant, unlike the first season, where I
...
was barely able to keep awake when watching it. There are a few filler parts here and there, but there is never a full episode of filler, which is also great! The only complaint is that we never see much of the other teams other than Team Summer B. I would have liked more insight in what they were doing as well. A great story Overall.
The artstyle is of high quality but there are never times where the art blows you away, however the artstyle is good at portraying the places they are in. I don't have any complaints with it. It is pretty much the same standard as what you would get in many other Anime.
The music is a slight step up, from the first season. The OP fits very well with the series and is quite powerful. The perfect song to listen to before watching the series. The ED has a laid-back vibe to it, it's great! I thought it would play at the end of the series but it didn't. And I am glad that Studio GONZO, chose a different song, because the song they chose was absolutely perfect and fitted way better than the ED would have! I don't know the name of the song, but it perfectly encapsulates the event at the very end of the last episode. The OST definitely is a great one. All the songs are very powerful, in their own unique ways. None of the songs feels like it was just put there for the sake of it.
The Characters development was definitely better in this season and is probably the one thing that improved the most out of everything else! The show took the much needed time, that was essentially wasted in the first season, to show the growth of a collection of characters, especially Natsu! She is definitely way more likeable in this Season! At the end, I felt like I was part of their adventure. I felt closer to each and every character, way more closer than I would have ever imagined.
Overall, I do believe that you should watch the whole show, if you haven't already. You just have to survive the first season but i promise (and I think many others would agree) that it would be worth it, for when you watch the next season. You won't regret it. Personally, i thoroughly enjoyed watching this Part. The whole show felt like it was thought through and developed better than it did before. I hope it continues at the pace it is going in, that is if Gonzo and Netflix would allow to make another Part, I would really appreciate it. I can finally say with confidence, that this is an underrated show and you should definitely watch it!
Have a nice rest of your day! ^^

This Anime is very special to me because, this was the first Anime I ever (fully) watched. I dropped watching SAO and Attack on Titan, because I watched the first episode of Brynhildr, and I loved the story more than the plot of SAO and Attack on Titan . It was so interesting to me at the time and it still is today! The end was however not satisfying in any way shape or form and overtime it felt a bit rushed. If you do watch this Anime, do not watch the last episode. Just DON't. Its for your own wellbeing.
The Protaganists ,Kuroka and
...
Murakami, are interesting, they had clear motives and could easily relate to them. Very likable characters however everyone else was a bit annoying. Kazumi was way too flirty and dirty, Kana is kinda a typical tsundere except she's disabled and Kotari is just fanservice... I think you know what i am talking about.
The artstyle is a bit above average. The way the character's eyes look are interesting and sometimes the colours stand out when it needs to, but other than that, it pretty standard
Whenever, i think of this Anime, what comes to mind is it's OP. It is Amazing! An OP without lyrics but it is so powerful and stimulating. The animation that goes with it is fitting and it successfully portrays the emotions that the show provides. That is... until you hear the second OP. This was the total opposite of how the first OP was. That blood curdling scream still echoes in my mind and the animation that goes with it... The whole song just doesn't work. The ED is okay i guess, because it has a happy yet melancholy vibe to it. Nothing else in the OST really sticks in my mind except for a song called Yuzurenai Omoi. This song plays at just the right time and fits very well with the whole show.Where the music really shines though, is in the OP. Go listen to it, it's so GOOD! It have never heard of a OP like this one, and i hope other animes follow the dubstep route in the future, because it really is amazing!
I first watched this when I was my naive 8 year old self and I would given a 10 to pretty much anything but i rewatched it yesterday, and I could easily see it's flaws but I had the same enjoyment than I had as a kid.
A solid 6 i'd say. Many say that this Anime is terrible and trash and I see why they think that, my only complaints are that it did feel a bit rushed and the Ending was rubbish... However, this show will always have a special place in my heart. I am glad that this was the first Anime I ever fully watched (watched from start to finish), because although it has its flaws, the plot (apart from the end) and the OP is where this Anime really shines. Also, the nostalgia will always reignite my love for this Anime. I hope this Anime isn't ever forgotten among the Anime community. I recommend you watch it up to the second last episode but whatever you do... NEVER EVER watch the last episode. It will ruin any thoughts you had of the Anime and you might start slapping your forehead in pure dissapointment. you have been warned!

When I watched this for the first time, I was drawned to the music and it's OST. Normally, I don't concern myself with the music in Anime but for some reason, I couldn't get the Music of this Anime out of my head. The songs are laid back, fun, soothing and It somehow has this nostalgic vibe that just bursts out. You can tell deep consideration has been put into the music and it sometimes plays in just the right moment! I recommend you listen to the full versions of the OP and ED. You will fall in love with it xD. (sorry I started
...
with the music because I just thought it was Outstanding, still is tbh)
The anime also has a unique art style to go with it. The cutscenes between each scene are perfect, it isn't vivid and it isn't detailed but it stands out among the rest.
If you are looking for something exciting and thrilling then this might not be to taste. What Kimi To Boku is all about, is the normal, Japanese life of high-schoolers and how each person interacts with each other. There isn't a lot going on, to be honest, but that's what makes it special. You don't need a dramatic storyline or stunning visuals to be interested in things. Sometimes Simplicity is all it takes to make someone enjoy something. If you just want to relax then this is definitely something I would recommend watching.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching Kimi To Boku but I know this won't be everyone's cup of tea. I recommend that you watch this if you don't mind watching the mundane. It is an Anime that just gives me such a profound, comfy vibe, that I have never come across anywhere else. The music is Amazing, The characters are likable and I don't know why Kimi to Boku is not known among the Anime community and neither is it known in the Slice of Life community. This won't be for everyone but At least give it a watch and If you suffer with insomnia or can't afford therapy, then watch it and listen to the OST. It actually works (it doesn't but I'm emphasising how relaxing this OST is)
Have a nice rest of your day, whoever you are! ^^
