Ni no Kuni was insufferable.

I haven't watched other his works but definitely don't blame him for that movie's mess. Nobody could make it better of that awful script!

ni no kuni is one of the first modern anime movies i have seen that has genuinely made me pissed off at how laughably terrible, ill-conceived, and piss-poor it was. even marketed for children, it would still be insulting the most basic of intelligence and their ability to understand a fundamental, basic plot, and yet you managed to screw that up as well. What the hell. i am genuinely pissed i wasted time watching that

keep it up generic ghibli employee

Lemon, this man is FAR from a "generic Ghibli employee," he is almost single-handedly responsible for the astounding and ambitious visual direction of many of Isao Takahata's most stunning films, including his last and perhaps most beautiful, Princess Kaguya. Takahata was a great director but not an artist, and that's where Momose came in as his partner in crime. It was this man who visualized and brought to fruition Takahata's bold ideas, transferring them from his head to the paper.
