Can't really blame him for how garbage GoH is. The source material is already bad.

@AnimeFanTalk

Park is great action director as well director in general and GOH only became a mess because CR forced the studios to adapt a 13 episode format. Same thing happened to TOG. CR and the other production committees should have given both adaptations more episodes to work with so they can really improve. As for GOH, Park damn well tried his best with the series and at the very least, its one of the best looking anime (animation) wise this season.

The upcoming JJK would most likely be a lot better given the track record of the series composer. Plus with the reported higher episode count, there's no way its gonna flop. I mean, have you seen the PVs? They look fantastic. The first episode has also been released too and it was great as well.

I don't blame him entirely for how terrible GoH cause the of two main factors.

1. Park rushed the adaptation in favor of being more action prone since that his specialty even as an animator.
2. The source material was already bad from the get go.

The anime just made it worse than it already was by rushing it.

AnimeFanTalk Park isn't to blame at all. GoHS is a story that needed more episodes, something they didn't get. From the very first episode, you can tell it was rushed and that the composition of the entire adaptation was poor. Park did his best working on this show, and for you to pretend that you know what you're talking about is absolutely hilarious. Plus, JJK episode 1 already aired, and immediately you can tell that pacing is significantly better due to the reliable person in charge of the series comp.

@AnimeFanTalk GoH is a hot mess for sure but let's face it: it never failed to engage under his supervision despite several creative caveats (which are mostly to blame to naver and crunchyroll tbh). His debut work in Vanishing Line shows what he can do with middling material.

Given that he's paired with a reliable series composer for JJK and reportedly 22 episodes to work on, I highly doubt it will tank under his care given his attention to detail.

you are utter garbo and I hope to God you don't fuck up with JJK (if its true that you'll be directing it) stick to key animation you bum

stop copying mamoru oshii and get another funny hat

Vanishing Line and God of Highschool shares the same director/scriptwriter duo but for Jujutsu Kaisen he's teaming up with Hiroshi Seko which is a huge step up. The animes Seko worked with has mostly been hit after hit compared to the scriptwriter Park has been working with so far.

I have definitely more faith in JJK.

@Zexus 95

I honestly think both directors and scriptwriters are to be blamed if an anime does not turn out very well. A recent example would be the TOG anime. Its story is already fine but the way the show is directed isn't good. Lots of key moments lose their impact and the way scenes are portrayed undermine the already good script. But then again, the script also was altered here and there for some FUCKING reason which changed the way the story played out.

Garo Vanishing Line had a pretty meh story but its directing was pretty good, especially on the action scenes which saved it from being a complete disaster. Same goes for the currently airing GOH, which already has a weak story to begin with but some great direction and action scenes which like I said before, has a chance to save it from being a disaster.

@wape

I am pretty sure that @Dope is talking about the story when he says oof, which I know, it is pretty stupid. People start complaining to the director if they don't like the writing of that show, instead of the scriptwriter for some fucking reason.
