After graduating from Waseda University Faculty of Law, he found employment at Tohokushinsha Film. Shortly thereafter, he joined Pioneer LDC (now NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan) as a producer; where he produced such works as: "El Hazard - The Magnificent World", "Magical Girl Pretty Sammy", "Moldiver", and "Tenchi Muyo!". On March 3, 1997, he established GENCO, Inc., and would serve as the company's president. In May 2004, GENCO became a consolidated subsidiary of TYO, Inc. The following year, he purchased back all shares of GENCO held by TYO, through an MBO method. In March 2007, Imagica Robot Holdings, Inc. acquired the majority of his share's in GENCO, with the company subsequently becoming a member of the IMAGICA Robot Group. In June 2013, he purchased back all shares of GENCO held by IMAGICA Robot Holdings, through GC Holdings Co., Ltd., in which is wholly owned by Maki, via an MBO method. |
