Both focus on solving mysteries. In both series, the main characters use their intelligence, observational skills, and knowledge to uncover the truth behind various cases and incidents. Whether it's Maomao unraveling mysteries within the palace in "Kusuriya no Hitorigoto" or Conan solving crimes as a young detective in "Detective Conan," both series feature engaging storylines that keep readers and viewers hooked as they follow along with the protagonists' investigations. 

Both are fantasies that have a teenage female main-characters, who are both smart and strong, in a setting based on the ancient East. Great world-building and similar writing. Romance is hinted and cute in both. 

Light novels where the female mc uses her special talents to solve mysteries around the inner palace. 

Both light novels with historical and medieval settings (Kusuriya in Imperial China and Spice and Wolf more similar to Europe). Smart, sharp-witted female main character with a romantic (if slow) story. And while Spice and Wolf mainly deals with trade and economics and Kusuriya with medicine in the imperial court, both works offer a highly detailed landscape of their worlds, at every scale.
