Hina is shocked she won the lead voice actress in the sexually-charged anime "Vamp". Her co-star is sexy voice actor prodigy Hasumi Yuki. Will he teach her more about the business and really open up her voice?
Story: it seemed simple enough, a girl would get voice lessons from a hot guy, but what seemed promising at first soon went downhill. The whole story was just basically sex, sex, and sex. (2/10)
Art: the art was okay. it was nothing new or captivating. It was a typical shojo look with nothing drastic. (5/10)
Character: now this was what really got to me. I wanted to stab all the characters in this book with a spork. First of all, to help her voice act in the studio, he starts to grope her and then she agrees to go to his house where he "trains"
her by taking away her first experiences. She thinks its part of the training so she lets him do whatever he wants until he wants to have sex with her. This is where she draws the line. She says she won't do it unless they're together and so then, just about five chapters in, he asks her to be his girlfriend. She claims that she already has one, but he still shoves his willy wonka up her and the next day she meets her actual boyfriend and a love triangle starts. (0.5/10)
Enjoyment: I mean, if you're just looking for a book with smut and no real plot, this seems like a book for you (5/10)
Overall: I've read a YAOI with more plot than this. i deem this a 1/10
This is my first review, and the fact that, after all this time, I decided to start with this manga is telling. And no, it's not a compliment, quite the opposite, in fact.
I won's say much about the plot ( not very interesting) and the art (quite nice), I will instead focus on the characters. All you need to know is that this manga is about a girl who wants to be a voice actress, and her love triangle with her respected, talented coleague and her idol boyfriend.
Now, I have to say I was expecting it to be at least enjoyable, since the whole
voice acting setting is not something I've seen before, and I never say no to love triangles, but boy was I wrong.
You'd expect the main character to somehow carry the story, but this is not the case. Hina, the main girl, is an almost offensively weak character, she has absolutely no personality and keeps being dragged from one awkward situation to another without being able to make a single decision. Her two love interests are the classic forceful, aggressive guys, whom you'd report to the police in real life. Since it's a manga, their attempted rapes are quickly forgotten by our heroine. At the same time, though, being aggressive appears to be the only thing they can do, since she won't seem to make any decision unless forced. She is like water, a nonentity, she goes with the flow, hurting herself and her two loves in the process.
That being said, I guess I don't have to tell you that I don't recommend this. If you enjoy smut for the sake of it, then by all means, read it. If you expect to relate to the characters and fall in love with them, this will disappoint you.
