Harigane Service and Haikyuu appeals to the sports audience. They both involve volleyball with a cast of characters that focuses on the sport. Throughout both series, there is competition among teams that brings out the best of each other. Both series are also known for their realistic portrayal and strategies when it comes to team play. 

Both main character has unique ability that makes their opponent surprises. While in kuroko his ability more related to inborn talent, the main character in harigane service achieve that from training over and kver 

Both are sports manga; Oofuri is baseball, and Harigane is volleyball. Both main characters have great control over the ball. In Oofuri, the main character can throw his pitches exactly where he wants them to go and has mastered several kinds of pitches. In Harigane, he can control where his serves go and what kind of spin they have. Both characters are a little insecure in the beginning and feel like they cannot match up to the other players. 

Both series has a protagonist who is fighting against their inabilities, but stil pushes forward. But the personalities of the protagonists are quite different. 

Both involve a seemingly weak main character that loves to work hard and practice for there sport. Both Main characters have a awesome hidden talent that separates them from all the other players. Both manga's have very good stories that show the progress and development of each leading character, not to mention the amazing art work and the show of detail through out each page.
