At almost 30 years old, this manga seems to be getting forgotten by time.
Although, in some ways, this manga was ahead of it's time, as it is primarily about the creation of an AI anime girlfriend game.
The titular character Ringo, is not real, not even in the universe of the manga, she is the game character.
In summary, this manga follows a highschool boy that is in love with his 2D highschool girl OC,
who get's the chance to create a game about her with the help of a big game company.
There are quite a bit of hardships along the way of creating the game,
...
and it takes place in 1997 which gives it an unique feeling.
Things like chatrooms and the internet were completly novel back then, and it was interesting to see it explained to people.
Alongside the game development story, there is also a love triangle between the main character, his tomboy childhood friend and
someone involved in the creation of Ringo. In all honesty, the romance part of the story is a bit mediocre and perhaps recieves a bit
too much attention.
Seeing as this manga is one of the first works of the author, Koio Minato, it is subject to some growing pains.
This is noticable in the art and character design, which, while not bad show that the author was still relatively new.
You can see that the storytelling of the author has improved in his later series, like IO and Alto.
This series is nothing too special, and you would probably be better off reading some of the author's other works.
Nonetheless, it is still a fairly quick read that was decently enjoyable.
Therefore, it is a fine thing to read, at only 2,5-3 volumes, for people that enjoyed the authors other works or like dating sims history.
