Both mangas have chubby overweight female main characters. They also have the same feel to them so if you enjoyed this manga you're bound to enjoy pochama ni.

Both of these stories feature protagonists who don't fall into the typical shoujo manga stereotypes. Physically, the hero/heroine look like characters that would be thrown away in the background of most other manga (a guy who's huge and intimidating in Ore Monogatari and an overweight girl in Pochama ni). They each have a supportive friend and manage to find the perfect partner who can accept them completely. I find myself enjoying them in the same way: for the refreshingly straightforward manner the characters have of facing their own challenges and romantic developments.

Pochamani isn't BL, but it still has a chubby main character. Both of them are super adorable and really sweet. If you like fluflfy, adorable shoujo, then try Pochamani.

Both mangas have an overweight girl as an heroine. At one point in each manga, they aspire to lose weight due their excessive eating ways caused by a parent figure. However, both mangas do have their differences, as Pocha Pocha Suieibu focuses on the main joining a swimming club, there also is no romance involved, whereas in Pochama ni, there is romance between a girl and a boy.

In both mangas, a popular boy falls for a not so popular girl that has famous/infamous for something (in Pochama ni it's for her chubbiness, and in Watashi ni xx Shinasai it's the fact she's somewhat of an ice queen). In each manga they do form to be a couple at one point, and are quite intimate with each other and have lots of body contact (not sexual though). Both mangas do have their similarities, as Pochama ni focuses on the relationship between the chubby and popular guy, whereas Watashi ni xx no Shinasai is much more complex and complicated as there are much more  read more

In shoujo manga, there's a usual archetype that the main character usually follows. However, in "Pochama ni" and "Shorty and Chubby Are In Love, So What?" we are presented a pair unique heroines. Mugi and Puniko are both overweight, as a result both don't think love is possible for them, making them feel self-conscious about themselves. But, despite that, both girls possess a sweet and gentle personality that attract a member of the opposite sex and they, eventually, gain more self confidence.

Both are romance manga with a plus-size main character.

Both main female characters are fat. This one the girl is more gloomy compared to Pochama ni were the girl is cheerful. The also fall in love with a younger guy.
