Most BL manga are very short and focus on the relationship of the main characters and one or a few problems that arise. This stack covers stories that are longer and where the focus is not so much on the typical relationship problems but also include non-relationship related plot. In some of these manga it's more BL subtext while the main focus is on something else.

This stack is a collection of BL manga with a darker setting. It includes psychological themes, dark pasts, underground settings, prison locations, dark fantasy/magic, and other things. The focus is less on the most disturbing stories but more on the overall setting, though some stories here are more messed up than others. Content warning: Some of these manga contain triggering elements like r*pe, abuse, torture, violence, blood, etc.

Not everything in this stack is BL, but I made sure to specify those exceptions. Not everything in this stack is good, either; sometimes I like torturing myself into reading some heinous stuff, then I "review" and add it here so I don't feel like it was a total waste of time.

Not recommended for those who are easily disturbed. And remember, guys... fictional toxic relationships are only fun to read and watch when both mains are messed up, otherwise it's just plain, disgusting abuse.

Manga in polish language

Unusual/intriguing premise, complex worldbuilding, well-written characters, big cast, supporting characters play important roles, multiple arcs, psychological themes. Long-running series (longer than 5 volumes).

The main plot has to be something other than just romance. It can be romance-focused if it equally focuses on another genre such as supernatural, action, adventure, psychological etc.

Highschool setting or slice of life themes are excluded unless the story has more interesting/unusual themes other than the two.
