I am indeed very suprised, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is my favorite anime and tbh the spin-offs are very "bad" but this one was the best spin-off and shattered all my expectations, the messages and the vibe from the original show are all in here, the characters are exactly like in the anime and for a short story does what needs to do.
All the connections and emotions betwen the characters ware in there and perfectly made, the only "problem" maybe is the fan service, but as a normal person i dont have anything against it.

I recommend for every Gurren Lagann fan! JUST WHO THE ...

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Rasen Shounentan is nothing more than a poor excuse for an alternate setting for TTGL. Poor enough to raise the question if this is just another example of Gainax teasing their fanbase.

Pitiful character development, a disgraceful and broken plot, multiple failed attempts at referencing to the original story, and more loose ends than one can fathom are just few of the many reasons any fan would become enraged at this watered down catastrophe of a story.

As usual, Gainax delivers with stunning artwork and arrangement. However, an eye-candy shell cannot mask the complete disaster this read holds in store.
