It's good. The okaasan (Saki) is smoking hot and the kid (Jun) isn't insufferable either. It's all too common for manga and anime of this type to have shotas that are either overly bold or just fucking stupid. Jun isn't like that, and his desire for unconditional love is something that most people can comprehend and appreciate. Besides Saki and Jun, the only other character with a relevant role in the story is Riko (Jun's childhood friend) and she's fine; Riko obviously likes Jun, but with Saki pandering the boy, she's relegated to being the pathetic side character that attempts to bring the MC back
