It has the same body-switching plot - but the difference is that it only happens occasionally in Orange Chocolate. Also, while the swapping in Boku to Kanojo no XXX resulted from a scientific experiment, Orange Chocolate is more on the supernatural aspect + it's a lot light-hearted in comparison.
These two manga have completely different plots, however, I couldn't help but think of Orange Chocolate while reading Kamisama Hajimemashita because of certain events and themes.
- Both manga reference to a lot of traditional Japanese things
- Both manga have spiritual themes
- Both main characters get caught up with spiritual characters due to a shrine
- Both involve spirits changing themselves to look more human and then attending school
If you liked one you might like the other, although Kamisama Hajimemashita has much more drama and action than Orange Chocolate. Orange Chocolate is much more relaxed.
Kabuki theatre, gender bender and supernatural themes are in both of these shoujo romances. Orange Chocolate is more of a gender bender, while that is more of a background element in Akaki Tsuki no Meguru Koro. These romances are set in the traditional Kabuki theatre and both have supernatural story lines.
