It's quite sad that Jump has decided to cancel this manga, but what else could they do? The manga received average to no response from the Japanese audience, so it's clear why it was canceled. It was unbearable for me to learn that it was getting the axe, but I realized that some people dismissed it, maybe due to its weird title or other reasons. I myself didn't check it out for at least two months because of its strange title name. But when I saw mostly positive vibes regarding this manga in our manga and anime community, I decided to check it out and ... really started enjoying it from the bottom of my heart.

This manga covers competitive sports and delivers incredible emotional beats. As a character journey, it's a near-perfect combination of themes that I truly admired while reading. It had something extraordinary inside, but external factors never worked in its favor. This kept it from reaching a better position, which could have been crucial in avoiding the danger of getting the axe. Although I don't know why the audience was so unaware of this series, it didn't get the recognition it deserved during its more than five-month run and was eventually canceled. I don't know what went wrong, but now it can't be restored. I can confidently say that this was the best axed manga in a while. I rarely be so comfortable reading a manga facing cancellation, and hardly have I ever been so disappointed by one being axed and in the case of GGG, I was just sad like some unfixable danger unleashed.

It has been my go-to comfort manga since the time I began reading, and every Sunday, when the chapters were released became my focus. But now, that satisfaction is no more, and I am at a loss to find another manga in JUMP that is as good as GGG in terms of providing that go-to comfort.


That said, I highly recommend reading it. Go ahead and read it; it's a great read! Unfortunately, it has been discontinued, and there's nothing we can do to change that. We are mad, mad readers, and to prove it, we are forever here to support the best of mangas. So please, don't override this one, go ahead and read it.

I typically don't like sports manga and anime but this is really good so far it seems not just about sports and golf but has a more emphasis on characters deployment you barely see anything about golf itself but its more about the story than the sport, the feeling of finding something that intrest you and something that lights a spark in you is really captivating and hooked me its pretty good I recommend. Good art as well intresting character design more than just SPORTSSSSSSS. Main character so far is also intresting as well as good supporting characters well supporting character so far.

Despite how short it ended up being due to SJ axing it, Green Green Greens was a very strong manga for the niche that it was in. Conventionally speaking, golf isn't something that most would consider interesting, but this one felt different from the moment I saw the first chapter. I stuck with it through the initial few chapters because it seemed there wasn't as much of an emphasis on golf as there was on the main character trying to find something new to do with his life, and how introspective he and the other characters were about their goals and ideals. It seems as ... though it would resonate very well with most young adults or people within Yaesaki's age group because of the notion of trying to find purpose within the stuff that you do. That age range is pretty difficult to navigate, and Terasaka did a great job of capturing realistic thought processes of the matter within the manga. The secondary characters all felt like they had their own purpose and were all well thought out from start to finish.

I truly do hope that Kento Terasaka makes a return to a similar story within a different magazine that will give him more time to create something similar to what GGG tried to accomplish. While it failed due to a lack of popularity, other magazines could have a goldmine with this author, and Terasaka has a bright future ahead of him if he finds a better magazine that allows him to thrive with how he tries to write his stories. Personally, I see SJ axing GGG's as a mistake and a very sad outcome as I felt that this manga had a ton of promise that will be left untapped, but hopefully we see more of Terasaka in the future.

The character writing is very well done. It's a manga about golf, but those who don't like or even dislike golf will enjoy this series. It features a motivational story that hits well emotionally. I personally quite like golf, so I may have some bias, however. Though, that means I can say that people who do like golf will enjoy this manga even more. It depicts golf in an interesting way, and shows many different aspects of the sport.

It was incredibly saddening to hear that this wonderful series was canceled. Even so, it's absolutely still worth a read despite ending far earlier than intended. The ... story remains strong from start to finish, and the creator didn't rush to end it like they had planned but rather maintained a natural feeling for the pacing in the final chapters. The early ending doesn't ruin the existing chapters at all. Now, it's just an enjoyable and thoughtful short read that anyone can enjoy.

Green Green Greens is easily the best sports manga I have ever read.
This story is incredibly bold in it's premise, that being the mindset shift of a teenage boy becoming an adult and having to find what is precious and what is worthwhile for him. It's a story about doing what you love and loving what you do.
Characters are charismatic and the protagonists, specially, are deep enough to have good arcs without taking from the simplicity that makes it so easy to love them in the first place.
The story does exactly what it proposes itself to do. Even though it was super short, it ended ... up not feeling incomplete at all. It is so common for these axed mangas to have bad endings, but in the case of Green Green Greens, it seemed incredibly natural. From beginning to end, this story is incredibly moving and is also able to express aspects of athlete mentality like I've never seen.

Tl;dr: perfect and self-contained story about personal growth and mental maturity. Couldn't recommend it more.
