Since I finished reading the novel, I haven't had much time, and now I'll follow the manhwa. Well, it's a dark romance, so the story portrays some sensitive themes, if you don't like stories like this, it's better not to read it.
The novel is by the same author as 'Bastian', so both take place in the same universe and are similar in some ways.
Duke Herhardt is an extremely arrogant character, having everything he wanted, with everyone licking the ground he walks on and flattering him, he is not used to people refusing him or anything like that, and that is why he starts tormenting Layla. ... Layla, who is a peasant who lost everything she thought she had, ends up clinging on to small glimmers of hope too much, so even a silly thing becomes a big problem. Romance arises in the midst of a lot, a lot, a lot of turmoil, and there are moments when you question how and why of the relationship. Duke has never regretted anything he did to Leyla, but he chooses to change for her good, but don't expect a big turnaround behind this, because there isn't one.
Well, overall, the story is very good and well constructed. You find yourself worried about what will happen next, you go through several mixed feelings, mainly due to Layla, her confusion about her own feelings ends up becoming yours too, and in this you find yourself loving and hating Duke.
This was my experience reading the novel, I know it won't be 100% faithful, but I'm excited to see how some scenes will be adapted. ^^

Como terminei de ler a novel tem pouco tempo, e agora acompanharei o manhwa. Bom, se trata de um dark romance, então a história retrata alguns temas sensíveis, se você não curte historias desse tipo e melhor não ler.
A novel e da mesma autora de 'Bastian', então ambas se passam no mesmo universo e se assemelham em alguns pontos.
O Duke Herhardt é personagem extremamente arrogante, por ter tudo o que queria, com todos lambeado o chão que ele pisa e o bajulando, ele não é acostumando com as pessoas o recusando ou coisa parecida, e por isso que ele passa atormentar Layla. Layla que é uma camponesa que perdeu tudo aquilo que achava que tinha, ela acaba por se agarrar até de mais em pequenos vislumbres de esperança, então até mesmo uma coisa boba vira um grande problema. Romance surge em meio a muita, muita, mais muita mesmo, conturbação, e há momentos que você se questiona como, e o porquê da relação. O Duke nunca se arrependeu de nada do que fez com a Leyla, mas opta por mudar para o bem dela, mas não espere uma grande reviravolta por trás disso, pois não tem.
Bom, num geral, a história é muito boa e bem construída. Você se pega aflito pelo que vai acontecer a seguir, você passa por vários mistos de sentimentos, principalmente devido à Layla, a confusão dela quanto aos próprios sentimentos acaba se tornando a sua também, e nisso você se pega amando e odiando o Duke.
Isso foi minha experiência lendo a novel, eu sei que não será 100% fiel, mas estou ansiosa para ver como algumas cenas serão adaptadas. ^^

FL has been through such abuse from family members that took her in after her father died and her mother leaving the family. She is being fathered by the dukes gardener Bill who was hesitant at first before adopting her but FL is a sweet child like I'd be annoyed if he got rid of her which luckily he didn't!

Duke ML here seems to be a oddball who shoots birds and tends to abuse them (especially the canary he's going to keep). This made me give a lower score for this series since #birdslivesmatter and I really cannot stand the third wheeler Kyle like ... honestly FL would be better off being single or find someone decent here!


You can't help but admire the art in the manhwa so much though. You gotta admit with the art, ML & FL are stunning af regardless.
