Ukes were/are abused (in AhnKwDN uke has an abusive boyfriend--NOT the main character seme. In LH, uke was raped). When they learn of the abuse, both semes gets adorably overprotective.

Both ukes are in abusive relationships with their boyfriend (or in AJ's case, ex-lover), and the semes are there to save and comfort them.

Both mangas involve an uke in an abusive relationship. However, in SnwSY the abuser is the seme, while in AhnKwDN the uke is dating another man, and the seme saves him from further torment. In both mangas, the ukes fall in love with the semes first.

Both have a sad excuse for a human being (the uke) who will let anybody fuck him (and abuse him) so long as he has company for the night. He has no self respect, self esteem or confidence, but lucky for him, a kind and loving seme helps our uke come out of his eternally abusive relationship cycles so that he can finally understand what "true love" is

Both mangas include severe misunderstandings that lead to the hurt feelings and, consequently, distance between the ukes and semes.

Both ukes and semes were great childhood friends but, once they grew older, they also grew apart. In both mangas, the blame falls on only one of the main characters. (In TnS it is uke's fault; in Ano hi no Kimi's, it's seme's).

I feel I should recommend these yaoi's because they both treat the subject physical abuse. Please do note these manga's differ from each other as night and day.

Almost identical stories, similar pairings, plots and situations. Unrequited love from high school. The same nostalgic atmosphere and misunderstandings, uncertainties. Both also are very focused about feelings. 'Kyuuso wa Cheese' is more mature.

hetero seme and gay uke.
reportRecommended by Shinkaron
Physically abused uke finds comfort in the arms of a protective seme. Art-wise, both titles are sketchy and soft to the eyes which helps give off a more gentle appeal to the reader.
