The next big manga from ONE, the creator of One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100, featuring art by Shitara Kiyoto. This horror comedy is an amazing blend of absolutely insane off the wall humor and some genuinely creepy moments. While One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100 had some similarities, ONE does a curveball with this one because so far it feels completely different from all his other work. The plot is ridiculous from the start and follows a simple formula of the two main characters finding a new supernatural phenomenon to mess around with and it quickly getting out of hand, then the ... same thing happens all over again the next chapter because they never learn their lesson. The main appeal of this Manga is the comedy, and if you've seen some of his other work you know how funny ONE can be, but Bug Ego takes it to another level! Featuring some of the funniest manga panels I've ever seen (shoutout to chapter 3 page 37 that face had me so dead) combined with a very unique and distinct art style that compliments both the humor and horror, and you've got a hilariously horrifying manga! If you like absurd humor, absurd horror, and don't really care about a deep plot or complex characters, then this manga is for you!

It might be bold to call this a 10/10 series when there's so few chapters out at the moment, but this series really does feel so well-put-together that it feels almost... Impossible. Artwork this detailed, writing this good, concepts this imaginative, humor this funny. All of it combined into one series that just... Works. It does a fantastic job of conveying the emotions and feelings of the characters too. Something about the way the art is drawn perfectly conveying trauma and emotional baggage, just hits in a way few other manga have been able to manage. All while staying so wonderfully absurd.

ONE and Shitara have ... created something incredibly special with this series.

If you like Dandadan, try this one! The art style is amazing, there are many similarities. I'd say the only difference and maybe concern are the characters so far. Only 9 chapters in of course, but I'm hoping we get do get some focus on them and not just world building. It has an incredibly unique setup. Unfortunately the release schedule is at 1 month intervals, but the chapters are very long so it's worth it. If you like "weird", this is definitely for you. There aren't a lot of manga that share this genre. Throughout, the pacing seems good, and its very detailed.

Early to ... call it a 10/10, but I think the genre has a large margin of error to work with.

The manga tells the story of two friends, Makoto Hitsujiya and Takehiro Kokudo, as they find and try various real life exploits/hacks/glitches for the shits and giggles. We follow them as they mingle with and face the consequences of their actions.

Now to be honest, not really familiar with Shitara Kiyoto's work as much as ONE's. But rest assured, the art here is top-notch and helps greatly to deliver the both the setups and payoffs throughout, especially when it comes to punchlines, which are to be found aplenty.

As for the artstyle istelf: it's very fitting, as the art can change from minimal to hyperdetailed depending on ... the scene. With simplistic drawings for when characters are sitting down and talking, to complex drawings for some of the abominations seen in chapters 2 and 3, to the hyperrealistic closeups of characters in the latest chapter (at the time of reviewing, chapter 4.)

In short tl;dr: this is epic just read it already.

I tried reading this from the MAL Challenge, it's a unique series.
It's been a while since I saw some sort of wild, zany adventure into the world of mystery.
It seems to navigate through the uncertain world, you have to meet specific terms and conditions even if it's the most extreme.
These are defined as "secret tricks," they may be cool but they come with extreme drawbacks if not done carefully.

I see this as expressing emotions to the maximum level and we see it in every single chapter?
This manga isn't for everyone and even I am having a hard time understanding what's going on.
