This was pretty interesting. A story about the ups and downs of relationships - as well as the struggles that people face, no matter how well everything may seem. The chemistry between Haelim Jeon and Haneul Yu can be seen from when they start to interact. But neither of them take it too far, because Haneul is still scarred from her past relationship and Haelim not knowing how to properly love somebody; even though he did feel genuine love for Haneul. Even I thought that whether Haneul had to choose between Haelim Jeon and Inseok Kim was kind of a thinker, as both had their
...
qualities. As a counselor, Haneul knew how to talk and advise people, but even she had trouble taking her own advise. She was very good at her job, but she was still only human. I could tell that she always tried her best; especially when it came to helping troubled students like Junsu and Chaelin Lee. Though I do understand how she would feel betrayed by the selfish and cowardly actions of Junsu and Chaelin. While Haelim was very popular in high school (and after), he could never bring himself to give love. I guess it was because he never really learned how to properly give someone his intimacy...and he already had feelings for Haneul. He's known about Haneul since high school; admiring her from afar.
Haelim and Haneul were infatuated with each other. I mean, there were times when they couldn't stop thinking about the other person (and even fantasized). And when they ended their relationship...they were devastated. While Haelim was heartbroken that his first and only love left him, Haneul was simply lying to herself and closing herself off. Despite having problems from her past experiences (with Gihoon and Junsu, and most recently Chaelin - as well as losing contacts with most of her past friends), Haneul admits that she was being a coward from preventing herself to move forward. Even her trying to find the meaning behind the numbers is pretty much her avoiding the costs of being in a real relationship. After her three year relationship with Gihoon fell apart, she was too scared to be hurt again that she made lines to keep Haelim from getting to close to her. But in the end...Haneul just couldn't lie to herself or live in the past anymore. After confronting her fears (letting go of Gihoon, and forgiving Chaelin), she was finally able to left go and officially start a real relationship with Haelim; who gladly gave her another chance.
The side story of Yomi and Jeonghyeon were also quite good. Seeing to complete opposites finding and learning to love each other. They're a great example of "opposites attract". As their relationship progresses they also learn things from each other. Yomi learns to appreciate schedules, and Jeonghyeon learns to go with the flow. It was also nice to see them getting married in the end. And its only a matter of time until Haneul and Haelim to tie the knot. Because even though they're aware that they'll face struggles, and nothing will be perfect...it doesn't matter as long as they have each other.
