Starts off interesting but becomes a slog to read through.
Story: 3/10
The story isn't that great. Our MC just wants to become the greatest martial artist against his will. Nothing new. The thing I found interesting at the start was the comedy, however, I got adjusted to the same jokes in a few chapters. I ended up dropping the manhwa because of the useless info dumps and huge speech bubbles filled with text. Also, the story tries to be overly edgy by using rape and other violent scenes for shock purposes. This doesn't work the expected way because of the 'comedy'.

I must say that this is perhaps the greatest manhwa I have every read. Not particularily because the art style is the best or the story is fantastic. In fact, I would say that its pretty mid.
But for some reason, I can't stop coming back. Sure the weird and annoying info blasts are not good at all but if you look past that and the at-first bad mc, the story becomes something that really grapples me in. I always want to read more and find out what is going to happen next. The very best thing about this manhwa is the mc and the ...

Master of Lightning Knives is a slog to read through, with abundant amounts of text, and a morally corrupt MC that borders being annoying but can sometimes do cool things. Despite all its faults I read to the latest chapter and I don't regret it. I would recommend this Manhwa to hardcore wuxia/ murim (martial arts fantasy) fans as the abundant explanations would be much easier to get through, and the main character much less annoying, if you are familiar with the usual personalities, sects, and techniques that appear in this kind of story.
