Synopsis

Sumi Sakurasawa is shy. Even simple things, like going for a donut with someone or calling out to a stranger that they've dropped something, paralyze her with fear. Her strategy? Become a "rent-a-girlfriend" and make some cash while she practices her people skills! But raising the stakes even higher might not be the foolproof solution she thought it was... You liked Sumi? Even if you didn´t saw her as best girl, you will enjoy this. The manga objective is to make you understand what Sumi thinks and how she feels at any time coping with her communication problem. Now this is not just a great manga because of that, but is completely and absolutely wholesome. Sumi looks so cute every time, just like she always is in the main story. Being the first Manga that I've actually sat down and read, Kanojo Hitomishirimasu has so far been a really funny and heartfelt read. If you liked Rent-A-Girlfriend, then I'd recommend this manga to you. Sumi is a really sweet and funny character that I personally enjoyed reading about, and I love how this spin-off introduced Sumi's reason for wanting to be a rental girlfriend in the first place. Most spin-off series' don't really work out in media, but this is definitely an exception. It's cute, exciting, and it actually managed to draw emotions out of me in certain parts.

This is one of the most wholesome manga I've ever had the pleasure of reading. If you read/watched Kanojo, Okarishimasu and are craving for some more Sumi, then i think you'll definitely enjoy this manga.

The story: 7/10. The first and only currently available volume of the manga shows the events prior to Sumi's introduction in the Kanojo, Okarishimasu manga. We get to see Sumi go through her everyday life and her struggles as an introvert working in a rental girlfriend service. We also get to see how Sumi and Chizuru met which is nice.

The art: 8/10. Miyajima Reiji's art continues to be fantastic.
