Well written stories about teenage boys coming to terms with their sexualities/gender identities

Both manga have characters that deal with confusion regarding their gender/sexual identities and are surprisingly well written.

Both are powerful, touching stories about trans guys just trying to live their lives as their true selves. Both MCs feel alone in the world except for having one friend they can confide in and look to for support

both are stories with art and characters that are LGBTQ as central themes. Blue Period mainly focuses on art while Boys Run the Riot is more focused on the LGBTQ side of things.

if you like wandering son, i recommend boys run the riot for its trans masc representation and more modern take on lgbtq+ issues!

Both protagonists are high school trans boys who are initially closeted because they don't want to stand out but learn to accept themselves for who they are.

Both manga have an MC who behaves and likes things that people of the opposite gender enjoy, a secret that they hold close to their heart and carry a heavy emotional burden due to it.

Both manga feature characters trying to start their own clothing brands with their own unique twist and motif of what they want to represent. Both stories also have themes of feeling pressured to fit a certain mould that society and/or your family expects you to be, and rebelling against that and living as your authentic self. Boys Run the Riot is much more heavily focused on gender dysphoria and gender identity in general however.

I know....sounds crazy but hear me out. Both stories begin with main character that have depression caused by their bodies and they both need to undergo a certain changes to achieve a piece of mind. Both also need to become more confident and neither of them has anyone in their lives until a super duper tall cool guy that stands out from other people comes into their lives. At first both these cool dudes dont care about MCs. And then they do because MCs convince them. Cool dudes take on the roles of mentors and bond over something that they both care about. Read it
