Both main characters have a weird arm. ^^ In both mangas the human kind is being attacked, but in Verdant Lord the attackers are trees and in Variante they're chimeras.

Both stories are about a widespread diseace of mysterious origin, in mostly post-apocalyptic setting. While Eden is more nuanced and mature story, sometimes slow-paced, Midori no Ou has pretty fast flow.

In both series, the MC becomes something more than human. While both characters struggle to retain or retain their humanity, the themes in TG are more character driven and intimate than inn Midori no Ou, where the characters feel a bit insubstantial compared to the world changing events they're involved in.

They are both science fiction where there comes something from outer space Male protagonist and similar. Gets dragged into something bigger, than one might expect The military is involved in a similar way, where there are times when they are against each other and other times where they work together The situation gets bigger/better as the story goes on, but you might need a bit patience with Midori no Ou (Verdant lord) They both have a great mystery behind

Taking place in a modern setting, both series focuses on themes that relates to apocalypse. The main male protagonist realizes what fate awaits him after many circumstances that ties him with the supernatural events. Throughout both series, he also plays prominent roles to secure a better future for their world. There is emphasis on experimentation in Midori no Ou while Zetsuen no Tempest focuses more on magical content.

They are both set in a world where plants are taking over humanity. Main character are both males that wil try to save the world. The plants also begin to move an eat humans. Main character is good at fighting to save friends but also the world, and also have leadership. They have many good moments, where both good an bad things are revealed. Later you might be able to see more similarities as you read them.
