Both follow a structure of some life lesson being taught each chapter, exploring different stories and characters each time. Mystery to Iu nakare is much more light hearted though and consistently has elements of humor throughout.

Reading them feels like reading a philosophy book, and that's a good thing! Both includes main character who likes to question every actions and decisions, looking at them through ethical and philosophical point of view. "There isn't a correct answer, just a long discussion" is what basically sums up most about what's inside the manga. It makes you think while reading, but in a fun way!

Both contain a mystery-layer motif, in which the main character(s)'s secret past is slowly being revealed. Throughout the entire series, the one to advance the plot is the main character(s).

Although Do Not Say Mystery spends much longer on each case, both DNSM and Kimi wa Nazotoki no Ma Cherie have detectives that seek to understand their clients and bring about solutions that give them closure, not just justice. KwNnMC's cases are often lower stakes or played for lower emotional stakes even when they are serious (fraud, etc).

Both these manga are interesting twists on mysteries. Usotoki Rhetoric has a heroine who can hear lies, but just because someone is lying doesn't mean you know why they are lying or what the truth is. Do Not Say Mystery has an antisocial protagonist with unique views about how each person has a version of the truth. I highly recommend these mystery series as enjoyable for adults.

The first mystery in "Do Not Say Mystery" is similar to how the assistant in "The Memorandum of Kyoko Okitegami" is suspected whenever he is involved in a crime. "Do Not Say Mystery" is more grounded in reality but both manga require the usual suspension of disbelief complicated mysteries do.
