What can I say?

"Ballad x Opera" is, in my opinion, a wonderful manga that can not only make you laugh, but also move you, making the reader shed a few tears.

I decided to buy all the volumes blind and I don't regret the money spent.
The manga itself starts out innocently enough. The angel and the devil release the souls of sinners and must catch them. And here are the questions. Why did they release them? How did it even happen? And why do they act like old friends when, in theory, they should be on opposite sides?

We are slowly getting answers to all these questions, ... which have their origins in the past, and most of all they make sense, which I really liked here.

Another plus is that as the story progresses, Haru gets to know more and more new and interesting characters, that have their own character and influence on the course of events. It also turns out that sometimes they are not as new as it may seem. The amnesia that the main character experienced as a result of tragic events is a very interesting procedure here, because together we are able to discover this world, full of secrets.

It is also worth paying attention to the lines and drawings, because they are beautifully made. The author herself admits that when creating the illustrations, she modeled herself in places where she used to be herself.

I was also charmed by the fact that while reading, I encountered characters from another manga of this author, specifically "Bloody+Mary". Even though they don't make much of a contribution to the story itself, it was nice to see familliar faces got their own illustrations.

The ending, in my opinion, is a bit sad, but also happy, looking at how the fate of the three heroes turned out in the end. At first it seemed a bit incomplete, but the booklet "White Day" came to the rescue, where there is an epilogue that closes the whole story and explains what happens to Kuro, Shiro and Haruto after the story ends.

Overall, I recommend this manga with a whole heart. I laughed many times in front of her, especially in situations with a flying cat. ;)

„Ballad x Opera”jest po prostu cudowną mangą, która potrafiła nie tylko rozśmieszyć, ale i też poruszyć, sprawiając, że czytelnik uroni kilka łez.

Postanowiłam kupić wszystkie tomy w ciemno i niczego nie żałuje. Są to jedne z najlepiej wydanych pieniędzy w moim życiu.
Sama manga zaczyna się dość niewinnie. Anioł i diabeł uwalniają dusze grzeszników i muszą je złapać inaczej nie będą mogli wrócić do zaświatów. Jednakże, tutaj nasuwa się kilka dość ważnych pytań. Dlaczego je wypuścili? Jak to się w ogóle stało? I dlaczego zachowują się jak starzy dobrzy przyjaciele, kiedy teoretycznie powinni stać po przeciwnych stronach barykady i toczyć ze sobą walkę?

Całe szczęście pomalutku dostajemy odpowiedzi na te wszystkie pytania, które mają swoje korzenie w przeszłości, bohaterów, a najlepsze w tym wszystkim jest to, że mają sens, co bardzo mi się ceni, zamiast dostawać odpowiedzi o tak, bo tak ma być i kropka.

Dodatkowym plusem jest to, że wraz z rozwojem fabuły, Haru poznaje coraz więcej nowych i ciekawych postaci, które mają swój własny charakter i mają wpływ na bieg wydarzeń. Okazuje się też, że niektórzy z nich nie są tak bardzo nowi jakby mogłoby się to nam wydawać. Dodatkiem do tej całej tajemnicy jest amnezja, której główny bohater doświadczył w wyniku tragicznych wydarzeń. Jest to dość ciekawy zabieg, gdyż dzięki temu możemy razem odkrywać ten pełen tajemnic świat.

Warto też zwrócić uwagę na kreskę i rysunki, bo są pięknie wykonane. Sama autorka przyznaje, że tworząc ilustracje inspirowała się w miejscach, w których już kiedyś była.

Ponadto urzekł mnie też fakt, że czytając mangę, natknęłam się na postacie z innej mangi autorki, a konkretnie „Bloody+Mary”. Mimo że nie mają większego wkładu w samą historię, miło było zobaczyć, jak znajome twarze mają tu swoje pięć minut, a nawet własną ilustrację. Tak, o tobie mówię ilustracjo z Bloodym i Haru. ^^

Samo zakończenie moim zdaniem jest odrobine smutne, ale też szczęśliwe, patrząc na to, jak potoczyły się losy trójki bohaterów. Początkowo wydawało mi się też to trochę niekompletne, ale na ratunek przyszedł mi booklet „Biały dzień”, w którym znajdował się epilog, który ładnie zamykał całą historię i wyjaśniał, co się stało z Kuro, Shiro i Haruto po zakończeniu historii.

Ogólnie polecam tą mangę całym sercem. Wielokrotnie śmiałam się w trakcie jej czytania, zwłaszcza w sytuacjach z latającym kotem, która tworzy ładną klamrę kompozycyjną. ;)
