Both are shoujo mangas with a main character who has ESP. Both have romance and a little tragedy as well. If you like one you will surely appreciate the other as well. 

If you liked one, you would probably like the other, although Only You is slightly happier (most likely because it's a shoujo). They both deal with ESP with dark themes, experiments, romance, drama, and general creepiness. The romance in Only You reminded me of ES due to their intensity of emotion and starting out in similar ways. 

the protagonists have psychic powers and while the female lead is a gentle, at first whimpy girl that grows stronger to support the male main character, that one uses his powers for good and bad in both and has trouble getting along with others 

Both manga deals with relationships that have that psychological and supernatural element to it.  

Both of these mangas are shoujos that deal with the gravity of possessing psychic powers.
