Five Word Review: WTF Have I Just Read.

I was searching random Manga when I found this, and oh boy, it gave me some conflicting feelings. The first volume gives extremely uncomfortable feelings, as it's hinted at it being some strange, Loli Manga (and tbh I'm still expecting it to go that way...) while retaining a superb air of mystery. Even now that I'm used to what it will say, it still fills me with wonder and awe.

That strange feeling from the first volume dissipates in the second volume however. Once it's realised this girl isn't some poor, defenceless, Loli, and is actually a ... [Lol, can't tell you, go read it].

The art is amazing, characters are easily identifiable and it is very easy to figure out what is going on, with great use of large illustrations to force the point across for important moments.

The story is extremely good, a proper mystery/psychological horror (The best I've read). I have sat there waiting for translations on tenterhooks as it's just so different.

The characters are thought provoking. While it is definitely uncomfortable for the first reading, you will certainly reread it for the twists for how well done they are, every chapter has hidden Easter eggs which you won't see until you reread it.

All in all, this is currently (and overall...) the best and most interesting Manga I've ever read.

As a preliminary review I gotta say that this manga exceeded my expectations. Will update with it finishes.

Inmersive and daunting art, with a very Oshimi shuuzo-like panels. Both these and some beautiful artwork makes this a very pleasant read. I could get nitpicky and say that in a few panels the character's design is not in line with the perspective so it feels a bit odd to look at but overall this gets a solid 8/10 artwise.

Characters are well rounded and relatable, so far no argumental flaws and I'd say I need more of the story to have a definitive answer but the main cast, ... Nakayama and Chiaki, look really cute and i'm intrigued on them a lot. Certainly well written. 9/10 so far.

Storywise... To be honest at first I was a bit skeptical this was going to go on one of those stories with a morality conflict like Hige wo soru, but the twist they gave to the plot made this a very pleasant ride not going to lie. I don't know if this is going to go for longer (Currently on chapter 17) but good pacing, deep and thought provoking writing and overall great story so far. 9/10

Enjoyment, 9/10. It is not masterpiece but it's an insanely great piece overall. I will say one thing that I decided to brush off and not pay that much attention while I was reading but it was a bother. Two panels have a perspective that are kind of perv for a child like Chiaki. Only on the beginning tho, later on there is no weird stuff like that but I had to mention it cause it felt a bit uncomfortable to look at.

Overall: 9/10. Can't wait to get to the end of this series, really underrated stuff.

Kono Ko Shirimasen ka?" translates to "Do you know this child?" Initially, I anticipated it might be akin to works like "Boy's Abyss" or "Eating Crab with a Snow Woman," centered around themes of escaping a small town, traveling, and ultimately leading to suicide. However, it diverged from that expectation, unfolding as a ghost story with themes of revenge. I completed all 28 chapters, and while it appears to have concluded, there's a lingering uncertainty. At times, I found the manga to evoke a sense of unease, yet it was compelling enough to maintain my interest until the end.
