Minor spoiler warnings(spoilers will not contain any events, only general themes):
There's simply only so much much lesbian sex you can have to continue claiming you're not a lesbian. That is "Sorry, but I'm not a lesbian". A lot of other mangakas would try to squeeze out more from the bit and keep it going for much longer than it should. This manga drops that bit relatively quickly and transitions into "Okay fine I'm a lesbian". There's a noticable point where we're just no longer doing the "I'm not a lesbian" bit. This change, while for most manga would represent the falling off point, actually is
...
the completion of a character arc. Honestly, not doing it would've been stranger and would get old quick. All of the characters have really good chemistry, and this is what keeps you invested in the manga. The story is really a nothing in particular, slice of life story. It's not the sort of story that would make sense if you reorganized the arcs, because there is major character development and the relationships change a LOT throughout the story.
Essentially, yuri manga allow the author to capitalize on love triangles and ridiculous love polygons which would be impossible in a primarily straight setting. There's lots of characters and most of them are very memorable, without falling into being downright tropes. The art is certainly something. On one hand, the artist is undeniably talented, and the art DOES lend itself to the laidback vibe of the story. But on the other hand, the girls aren't exactly cute so if you want tosee cute girls with big bulging eyes, you will be disappointed.
There's no plotholes. At times it does feel like semi-major conflicts are left unresolved but I can kind of see how leaving the conflict unresoled would mess with the narrative a lot. There are no awkward interactions whece it doesn't make sense for two characters to be interacting. There is ALWAYS a reason for everything which happens in this story, and every character has at least semicomplex motivations. The best friend who you might have expected to have at least a semi-major role given her early story antics is kind of left to the wayside, but eh.
The only real problem with this story is that there appears to be a characters named kounu, but I simply have no idea who this is.
Overall a 10/10 manga.
