You won’t even realize it’s gay until like episode 8. It’s not super in your face about it. It’s like a serious bocchi the rock with more focus on music and band member drama. 10/10 show regardless.

Dropped stuff like Ouran because of that gay couple of brothers.
Given is a 10/10
They do a great job not shoving the gay shit down your throat unlike every other BL anime.

Yo wtf yes you can watch it. I loved it and I’m straight. So what. I’m not an expert swordsman or a battle-hardened child soldier but I watch Demon Slayer and Gundam. The whole appeal is watching stories that expose you to new things. Chill. Don’t complicate this.

don't worry it's ok, even if it has some gay scenes it will not make you gay. being LGBT is something you cannot catch while watching show or anime : it's from birth. and yeah a lot of straight people like BL or GL ! so enjoy ! ^^

the plots good, romabce is romance to me personally, if its well written it doesnt really matter, with that said, givens a great anime regardless of your personal sexuality, the musics good, the characters are fleshed out

if you're interested, you will probably like it. the music is really fantastic, and the approach of amateur performers who want to start a band is really fun and realistic.
the romance ends up being at the end, and it's more of a drama about why one of the main characters has the personality that he does.

You should definitely go for it! It’s one a the best I have seen: the music is so fantastic, I even downloaded it. The characters are well developed and I really liked the flow of emotions. It is so deep that keeps you think and stays with you. I hope what I am trying to say makes sense ☺️ Honestly it would be a shame to skip it based on prejudice! (Btw: I guess I am bit older than most of you so I have an other point of view! 😉)

It's a nice story with in depth characters, romance is like that of any sweet romance regardless of sexuality, and really focused on music and song writing,while also exploring a characters that has been struggling with loss and guilt,etc. Its really is a nice short anime, if it's not your thing, then I mean you can just drop at any point but don't let yourself skip a show you might like just because it's gay,give it a go and see if it's a good show!

If you’re “disgusted” by “gay sh*t” you should probably look inward and figure some stuff out. I’m not disgusted by straight romance and I have zero interest in being with a woman. Sounds like there’s more going on there.

Anyway, Given doesn’t have a ton of romance. The focus is on the music, the characters, their emotions, their struggles. etc. Great anime, 10/10

I’m a few months late, but I will say this. As long as a series based around a homosexual romance doesn’t make you uncomfortable then things should be alright for you. There’s none of the usual ecchi fan service or in your face sexual activity that occurs in most yaoi anime. In this one, the few sexual stuff they actually have is mostly only implied. There’s mostly just kissing and other things like that. It’s relatively wholesome for a yaoi and only mostly focuses on romance aspect rather than the sexual aspect. I think its perfectly ok for anyone who just enjoys romance in general, especially if you don’t care about it being between two guys.

That’s what I love about this series. They don’t have it completely in your face like most yaoi anime do, and they don’t overly sexualize it either which is nice as someone who isn’t really interested in that stuff. I love that they mostly focus on the romance rather than the sex that yaoi usually does.

I don’t think he means it in that way. I think that he’s wondering if it’s just weird for a guy who’s not gay to watch a show that’s centered around a homosexual romance. I think it’s ok way to feel imo. A lot of people usually look down on guys who enjoy yaoi, especially if they’re straight because people would just assume they’re actually gay. I think that he was worried about that sort of thing happening. Personally I see nothing wrong with it.
