Timeline question

Is this how the manga did it too? It just seems too random and convoluted to me.

jjk 0 was originally a one shot and because of the good reception the author made jjk a series. So he went for the direction of gojo being older and with yuji, then wrote the current prequel after what s1 covers because it's kind of a necessary arc or why gojo, geto are like how they are and sets up more stuff that seem unnecessary now but will be in the future. Mappa probably made 0 a movie since it's perfect length and needed an adaptation but putting it into s2 they wouldn't be able to fully cover the major arc that continues where s1 left off.

I wasn’t trying to say they should make hidden inventory a movie instead, or integrate JJK0 into the story of season 2 instead, I was saying that having a prequel to a prequel seems convoluted to me. I intend to Re-watch 0 after I finish this arc, if I were to guess, that’s the reason they released it this way, for the views, and profit, banking on people rewatching 0 out of frustration, not for congruent storytelling. Maybe I’ll see why later on, but I feel as if they could’ve released JJK0 in the middle of season 2, having season 2 go on hiatus for the release of the movie. They could’ve also did a demon slayer arc type thing and just made Hidden Inventory and Premature Death their own seasons with JJK0 releasing in between. Right now it seems like all the story is doing is going backwards up until the Premature Death Arc comes out.

But that is a fun fact about what created JJK in the first place, Jujutsu Kaisan 0 is truly 0 in the series, rather than being your average prequel.
