Suppose we consider the fights with Sukuna (in Yuji's body) and against the previous Gojo clan member (who has six eyes and infinity). In that case, both must have been maxing out their cursed energy output to try and neutralize Mahoraga, but what if Mahoraga is just like a giant stone blocking a road, i.e., not something you expend all your energy on to move, but rather back up and consider an alternate route?

I don't know if there is something mentioned for this specific case, but please let me know if I missed something obvious. Also, I am looking forward to hearing everyone's theories.

(Gojo vs Sukuna, I bet Gojo took the month or so to prepare something against Mahoraga....Could help him win the battle, but I feel like Sukuna has something ready to followup Mahoraga)

if they were using a cursed weapon I imagine it'd be able to adapt to the properties of that (not sure how it'd react to Inverted Spear of Heaven or Black Rope though)

This, definitely. Mahoraga's speed already scales relative to 15F Sukuna, while Megumi was comparing Toji to "maybe faster" than 3F Sukuna, so there's really nothing to adapt to. 

About ISOH and BR...they're meant to nullify and disrupt CTs, right? Since Mahoraga's ability to adapt is classified as an "ability" and not a CT by Sukuna during Shibuya, I'm assuming Maho's adaptation could overcome their effects. I'm not sure if it's a mistranslation though.
