After watching mutiple times the first episode, I realised that the anime is in safe hands thanks to Gosso. I am not even talking about the cinematography, camera angles and animation which are great, but what impressed me the most is how he adapted the source material and added or changed certain things about it.

If you read the manga, you know that the whole mansion segment had a lot of original content. I loved how the atmosphere was set, the mission didn't start kind of random as in the manga, also the VHS video part was excellent. I also liked how the loop thing was visually represented and how they used the advantages of the medium. I also loved the characters, I don't remember Mei Mei being such a good teacher as she was in the anime, she looked confident, smart and very charming. Utahime was also pretty great, she was the goofy scaredy-cat and the way this was executed made her look quite adorable and very relatable. The way she explained to the audience how the corridor works using boxes was also great, in the manga there were some additional little drawings for how the loop looks like and works, but Gosso said "no, I can do it without them". Their escape (Utahime's run) was also better in the anime.

Another scene that suffered changes but in the best way possible was the conversation between Gojo and Geto about their ideologies. Only in the anime this happens on the basketball court, which is a lot better because the audience can see the conflict between their ideologies while they are going against each other, shooting shots. We can also see the gap between them, between Geto who misses and looks inferior to Gojo who looks like a winner but he is the one with worse attitude/view. It is great storytelling considering what's gonna happen in the next episodes.

I think these type of changes are important for this series because obviously they can elevate the source material but they can also can fix certain problems of the story. If you read the manga, you know there are some problems especially after Shibuya arc, related to pacing, characters interactions and how they feel and react to certain events. Or things that are not explored that much. I think Gosso with the help of the scriptwriter can create original content that will help the anime and will make the story even more enjoyable in the future.

I may also add, Gosso previous works are one the best episodes for this anime. Chainsaw Man EP 8, Ranking of Kings EP 21 and Jujutsu Kaisen S1 EP 16. Some of the the most cinematic episode of the series. Its just a joy that he is now able to direct an entire 2 cour series.

I love how they stuck with animating all of the chibis and low quality shots of the characters that are in the manga lol

Yeah I’m definitely a fan of Gosso direction, it’ll be interesting to see how it works with the madness that is Shibuya. For sure an improvement over S1 and JJK 0

well what I loved the most about s2 is that the animation is more fluid and there are more color palettes and it seems more grounded to the manga'a style compared to s1.
