Summary from a LN Reader.
Hi, my friend read the LN and pretty much summarized it to me what its all about.

!This isnt a harem! BUT: Other girls will approach the guy and will try to flirt with him, but he only has eyes for the tsundere fmc.

fmc = female main character
mc = male main character

There is this guy, who adores a girl and he is with her all the time. Crushing on her. (pretty stalker-ish sometimes)
the girl is very tsundere towards him when he is clingy. So let her cook, her *not nice* behaviour is deserved almost all the time.
He confesses but gets rejected by the girl. Something snaps in him, losing all his drive that he had towards being clingy
to the fmc. He goes into a serious depression.

Both the fmc and mc are flawed characters. It is a story about healing yourself with love/affection.
Both has no friends, family saying a lot of bullshit pushing mc into more depression.
After, mc gets depressed and gets away from the fmc. Fmc gets curious why he is being so distant keeping because he was clingy/stalker-ish
before. She gets a very tsundere tone while she is trying to help the mc to get over his depression and try to be curious but the tsundere in her
makes her do some "not nice stuff". (while doing so she falls in love with her, but i dont spoil the exact moment)

Something happeness, that i dont spoil and so the MC gets out of his depression. Ultimately accepting his love towards the fmc in his head.
And just when that happened, (mc got out of depression, wanna be with the fmc again) the fmc cant help it but feel "not enough" for the mc (only in her head, obv the mc is head over heals for her) She is in love with him, but doesnt feel "enough" to be him, because she feels that she doesnt deserve the mc because she wasnt nice with him when he was pushy/clingy/stalker-ish back in the day.

This story is:

  • slow
  • have flawed characters
  • have depression
  • serious tone
  • lot of monologue
  • and slow romance

[its really similar to adachi to shimamura in that expect, so if you liked the Adashima LN you will like this.
but prepare it being butchered because of all the monologue.

its more comedy Oriented then drama Oriented tho, and its not all that depressing, the mc may have low self confidence when it comes to Aika, but he is overall a pretty goofy and fun guy, and i can only think of 1 or 2 times in the novel there is actual drama.
aika might be a bit unlikable at the start, but she definitely gets a lot better as it goes on.

I would still consider harem, although it wouldn't be the type where the MC interacts with them all the time. And I disagree with the idea that the MC is like that because his family makes fun of him, based on volume 1.

In all volumes there is drama.

There is also a manga adaptation if you anyone is interested.
However there only several chapters translated to english and currently almost every chapter is poorly translated (you might get the gist of each chapter but there is one chapter that's horribly translated).

But yeah:

  1. MMC dearly loves FMC and repeatedly confesses to her but keeps getting rejected since their middle school days but he never gives up and hangs out with FMC and being clingy and lovey-dovey.
  2. MMC one day realizes he is not good enough for FMC and also concludes that he is a nuisance to the everyday life of the FMC and so decides to 'set proper distance' so as to no longer FMC anymore; making her sort of his 'oshi' or his idol, who he will adore from afar and support her when needed.
  3. FMC realizes something is wrong and became curious and kind of thinks MMC now hates her in someway.
  4. MMC on his new daily life, meets and gets acquainted with different girls in school for his character development.
  5. FMC gets confused on how MMC is now acting and how she will deal with it.

That's basically how I summarize the premise.

The manga will probably end up adapting up to volume 4. Volume 1 was adapted in 11 chapters and 2 in 10 (cutting the end). Volume 3 was only adapted in 3 chapters, so they are rushing to finish it soon.

Is the LN series concluding soon?
I always get the feeling that LNs get an anime adaptation to boost popularity when they are nearing completion or when they are about to be cancelled.

I believe not. There is still nothing indicating its end. The light novel is up to date with the web novel, so it's still not possible to know how much is left. But there should still be at least a few volumes remaining.

I read both the LN and WN (original) versions, and so far the story is good and perfect.

Is this correct? Both have pretty much a normal amount of friends... What depression? He didn't seem depressive from the first episode...
